Trudie emailed me this
plush toy description and image, the toys in question
being circled (bear, bunny, puppy and pony):

"Please help me identify
my fav childhood toys!!! I have searched and searched
the internet and have found every toy I had apart from
this collection. Each teddy came with
a story book and a story cassette. I
think there was about eight all together and the
stories all took part in dreams. I remember
the fields is the books were drawn as if made of patchwork
and each teddy had a patch sewn to it. Please, please,
please help!"

Tina emailed me this
doll description:
"I have a doll
from the 1980's that I cannot remember
the name of. It is a soft newborn baby puppet
that is holding a little teddy bear. She came with a bonnet
and only has a nightgown with a blanket for a
body. You can put your hand in the back of the
blanket to control her hands and head. This is not the
Goo Goo baby doll that came with a basket. The doll I
have is just the baby connected to her blanket."

"I had a
favourite doll when I was growing
up and I seem to have misplaced it. I have searched
online for it, but I do not know what it is called.
This doll was probably about 6 inches tall,
had a white fabric body with a
plastic head, hands and feet. Her
face was painted on. I received
this doll for Christmas in 1989.
I have attached a picture. I hope you can help."

Sarah emailed me this toy description:
"Hi, I just discovered
your site, and it's great! Brought back so many memories.
I am now wondering about a tiny doll and house
set that I had when I was little. It may be from
the mid-to-late 1970's because it belonged
first to my older sister. The main thing I remember is
the house, which was plastic and shaped
like an ice cream soda glass. It was light blue.
The back side of it was flat, and it flipped down to reveal
the house inside. I think the inner side of that
flap might have had a front lawn-type scene or something.
I think the house had 3 little floors. I can't remember
if there was any furniture, but I think there might have
been a ladder between the floors. The house was probably
only about 8" tall. The doll was
very little, probably only 2 to 3". I can't really
remember what she looked like, but I think she had rooted
hair.
I'm thinking this could be a Liddle Kiddle, but I could
not find a description or picture online that matches
it. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of it. It was probably
sold at some long-ago yard sale. Does anyone remember
this?"
Thanks, Sarah

| Alyssa emailed me with
these four toy descriptions:
"Hello, I am looking
for a few things from the early to mid 90's.
- I used to have this
stuffed teddy bear, it had a lavender
sailor hat and a sailor outfit
that you could not remove, the ends of the pants were
sewn like they were the actual bears legs.
- Also, I used to have this other teddy
bear, it had a night cap and
it's eyes were half open, the lids were also purple,
I believe. It had a sound box on the
inside of it sealed by velcro on the bears back, I think
it sang a song to go to sleep to and
then snored at the end.
- Also, I used to have a stuffed
bunny rabbit. I believe that it was coloured
and it lied on its right side sleeping. It used a carrot
as a pillow and I believe that it also snored.
- Also, I used to have this little
toy. It was a flower pot with a peach
tree growing out of the top. Inside were little
leaf hammocks and bottles
and a little high chair attached for
the little babies that lived inside.
I think you had to push the sign down that was on the
top of the soil in the pot in order to open it up.
Any ideas on any of these?"
Thank you! Alyssa

toy description and image:

"These kittens
are marked Durham Industries/1983 on
the bottoms. I know they are probably just some knock
off of Poochie/My Little Pony but I'd love to know what
they were sold as. I bought mine in Canada. The ponytails
are about the size of an MLP tail, to give a sense of
scale, the body is vinyl like MLP also."

Pencil
TopperClips & Pterodactyl Scissors |
Pterodactyl
Scissors |
"These aren't really
dolls but they were made in the 80's.
I've been hunting for a stegosaurus tape measure
that I had when I was a small child in the 80's. The stegosaurus
looked sort of like a zoid or a robot. It's mouth opened
to reveal a single metal tooth, that was really the end
of tape measure. I'm pretty sure that I got the stegosaurus
as part of a set that included pterodactyl folding
scissors and a t-rex pencil sharpener.
I'm fairly certain I got the set at the gift shop of the
Smithsonian Institute of Natural History in Washington
D.C. After much searching I found the pterodactyl on ebay
it came in a lot with two pencil topper clips.
This was a loose/unboxed lot. The pterodactyl has "Bandai
1985" stamped on it and the pencil toppers
are marked "Bandai 1986". The
seller did not know anything about them except that they
were made by Bandai in 1985 and 1986. The seller was in
England. Whatever these were, they made it out of Japan
to Europe and the USA then promptly disappeared."

Carrie emailed me this
ballerina doll description:
I really really hope you
can help me out on this one, it would mean so much to
me. When I was 7 we moved house and by mistake my parents
took the wrong bags to the local dump, it resulted in
ALL my toys winding up there and needless to say I was
terribly upset. Over the years I have managed to remember
most of my lost toys through sites such and yours, but
there is one BIG and heartbreaking memory I cannot rekindle
enough to find any information on. I remember these Ballerina
dolls, I had 3 of them although I believe there
was more. They were so beautiful, so delicately made but
were not posable.
They came in a fixed position and clicked
onto a coloured stand which made them
spin around as you moved it. The dolls
clipped to the stand with one leg (the right leg extended).
The three I had were as follows: One dressed in a Black
tutu, right leg extended, left leg bent at the
knee with toes pointing backwards with one arm pointed
upwards and the other to the side, she had blond
hair. The second (also blonde)
wore pink knee length tutu, right leg
extended, left leg bent at the knee with toes pointed
to other knee, both arms extended outwards. Oh I remember
her hair was in ringlets and she had separate cuffs with
went over her arms! The last doll I remember was also
blonde, right leg extended, left one
pointed upwards with both arms over her head, i think
she was wearing blue or purple.
It would have been late 80’s early 90’s
when they were made and were purchased at the country
best known toy shop so I think they would be somewhat
known. They were smaller than a Barbie doll
but of decent size and were my pride and joy. Many a tear
I cried over the years at their loss. If anyone can tell
me anything at all about the memories I am trying to reclaim
I would be so grateful!"
Thanking you, Carrie

Elizabeth emailed me this fabric doll
description and image:

"I have this
doll that I was given around the time I was born,
which was mid-1988. I have a twin
sister and she received one that was very similar
to mine, only hers is blue and has different writing
on the front. My doll is pink and
has yellow yarn hair. Her face
looks like it is printed on. Her
eyes are blue and have stars in them. She has three
eyelashes on each eye. Her nose and mouth are very
simple and almost look like sideways parenthesis.
She has rosy, round cheeks and on the sides of her
face is a little bit of hair and braids with blue
bows. Further down she has a blue bow and bellow
that there is a little bit of writing and it says
“I love you Sooo much”. Aside from
her hair everything else is printed on her. Her
hands are short and stubby hands and have three
fingers and a thumb, but the hands look kind of
like mittens. Her feet are yellow and round and
stick out a little bit from her body. Her back is
solid pink."

description and image:
"I have had
a fabric lion doll for years but
I have never been able to ID him. He has a tag but
it is faded so much I cannot read it. I can tell
the date is the 80s though, that much I can make
out! He is about 12” tall and his
legs splay out to the side a bit more than I allowed
for the photo. When he does that, he is about 18”
wide. Any idea who he is?"

Kelly emailed me four descriptions,
two of which have now been identified:
"I
have a few things that I would absolutely LOVE to find
out what they are called, and I apologise now for vague
descriptions. From what I can remember, they were probably
early to mid 80s when I had them.
- I believe it was
a puppet, it had really long
arms and legs (think they were velcro,
not positive). It had long brown shaggy hair,
and I think it had yellow or brown eyes.
I can't recall if it had a nose or not.
- It was a gray
mouse, had light pink inner ears.
I am pretty sure it didn't have a tail, but I could
be wrong and I'm just not picturing it. I believe
it had black eyes. The inside of the mouse was stuffed
with what was like a plastic bead type pellets.

Nadja emailed me this query about Holly
Hobbie:
"I could have sworn
that the Holly Hobbie doll I received
as a child had a tummy filled with little plastic
beads. I know this because after pining for one
for what seemed like an eternity, finally on my 7th birthday
I was presented with a Holly Hobbie doll.
It was the happiest 30 minutes of my life, till I felt
her torso, grew very curious and cut her open with a pair
of scissors! Translucent plastic beads came flying out
everywhere. My mother was so mad at me, she did not even
attempt to sew her back together. Most of her mid region
was consumed by the vacuum cleaner. (It's no surprise
to anyone I grew up to be a doctor!)
My husband has been trying to look for one ever since
I told him this story but we have not found any of the
kind I am talking about. I'm starting to think maybe I
made a mistake, or maybe they were just taken off the
market."
Please help, Nadja
Holly Hobbie collector Kaylee
emailed me with this help:
"To the best of my
knowledge, I do not know of any Holly Hobbie dolls that
were bean filled, but because there were so many versions
of her, and some were not necessarily licensed but rather
imitations, it is possible that there was something like
this made. The only various Holly Hobbie rag dolls that
I have come across have been typical cloth cotton stuffed
type. These were the ones licensed by Knickerbocker Toys.
None have had beans. Because the Holly Hobbie country
girl style was so popular during the 70s and 80s it is
possible that your visitor may have mistaken her for a
Holly Hobbie.
Because you are in the UK and if your reader might have
been as well, there is also the possibility that a bean
version of the doll was not released here in the US. Thus,
I haven't found any information on a bean version in my
reference books."

Autumn emailed me this
doll description:
"I had a doll
from the very late 80's to very early 90's.
She was a little girl with a head
full of brown hair. she wore a little
white jump suit with blue stripes. She came with
a walker that when you clapped
your hands, she would move across the
floor. I'm trying to find and buy my favourite
dolls from my past for my daughter and I am having a hard

Andrea emailed me this doll description:
"As a child, I received this doll
for Christmas. It would have been possibly late
70's, but more likely the early 80's.
She was tall (at least 22"...maybe
even taller), and she had a Barbie-like figure
(more like a fashion doll). She had short, curly
blonde hair, and she came with pink,
yellow, and blue markers for colouring her hair.
She was wearing a silver bodysuit,
and also came with 2 or 3 skirts to
wear over top of the bodysuit, and white high
heels. I seem to recall her name being Colourful
Candi or something similar to that, but I can't
seem to find any information on a doll with this name
anywhere. I believe that my doll may have been made
by Ideal Toy Company, who also made
the Tiffany Taylor line of dolls. She is extremely similar
to a doll Ideal sold in the 70's called Magic Hair Crissy.....except
that Crissy was a redhead and my doll was blonde. I
am hoping someone can remember this doll."

"I am desperate to find a yellow,
soft-bodied (bean-filled) doll, not a baby,
about 8" high dressed in chrome-yellow
cloak and yellow and black cap. The doll had
a hard plastic hands and head, with
blonde shortish curly hair, blue
eyes and sewn-in feet from
the body material. I bought this doll at 'Bonds' in

Mel emailed me these three toy descriptions with photo
below:
-
"I was looking
through some old photos from Christmas in 1983. I
had received an "Apple Tree House".
I think it's similar to the Family Tree House that
Fisher Price brought out, but it's definitely not
that. It has a green base, and a
brown tree trunk. At the bottom of
the tree trunk it has a yellow door.
At the top of the tree trunk it has a yellow
roof and a yellow bird sitting
on top of it. To the left it has a swing
and a yellow bird sitting on top of that. To the right
it has a large red apple that opens up. Inside it
has rooms and stairs.
It has basic furniture inside. The
apple tree house also came with a little plastic person
with red plastic hair. Can you find any more info
on this? I have searched the internet all over and
can't find any mention of it at all!"
-
"That same
Christmas I also received a "Matchbox"
toy called "Stack A Cake".
I can't find any more information on this toy anywhere
either! It was a wind up toy for
preschoolers and had a revolving
'floor'. You had to try and stack up the
cakes before the chef, (wearing a tall blue hat) and
another character (wearing pink and red) who had their
arms stretched out tried to knock them over! It sounds
very cute. :)"
-
"Also, I was
given a baby doll in I believe the
mid 80's (maybe 85 or 86?) and she had a baby
powder scent. She had a bean body
and plastic arms, legs and head.
She had rooted hair. She came in
a pink coverall I believe. I think
she came with accessories. I named
her Amy, but I don't know if this was possibly the
name of the doll on the box? There were so many baby
dolls around, but I have no idea of what brand she
was or anything. Any info would be fabulous! :)"
 |
Left is a photo
with two of the toys in.
"The treehouse
box is behind me and it clearly says "Apple
Tree House" You can also see the 'Stack
A Cake' to the left with its box behind
it. Not sure if it helps at all, but I'm in Australia.
Maybe they were only released here? Any help and
more info would be greatly appreciated!"

Bethany emailed me this description:
"I have flashbacks of a toy but
have absolutely no idea what it was. It was a mouse
doll. All I remember was that it had a hard
plastic face and probably a hard body as well,
and looked like Fievel from an American Tail. I really
don't think it was related to that movie though. It
was on the bigger side I think - maybe around
16 inches (but I was a lot smaller then!).
I'm guessing it was maybe about I know it's a long shot,
but it'll probably drive me crazy the rest of my life!
:-) I was born in '82, so this was probably around '86
or so. Thanks for any help you could possibly give me!!!"

Patty emailed me these two game descriptions:
-
"My brothers
and sister and I used to play a board game
in the 80's that I've been trying
to identify for years now! We don't have the game
anymore and I never had any pictures of it. The game
had little plastic pieces. There
were orange pumpkins, green
heads of lettuce, and corn.
I can't remember if there were any other game pieces,
or what they might have been. I think the purpose
of the game may have been to collect all the veggie
pieces like the pumpkin etc. I kind of remember there
being a skunk in the game who was
after the veggie pieces. So I think you had to collect
as many as you could before the skunk got them first.
The name of the game, or the theme of the game might
have had something to do with a farm."
-
"My siblings
and I used to have a counting game
when we were kids back in the 80's.
It was a plastic bowl (I think it
was light green coloured). The plastic bowl was set
down upside down so the bottom was face up. The bowl
also had several holes in it I think.
Then there were plastic cones with
flat tops that were numbered
and fit right onto your fingers. There were yellow
ones, green ones, orange
ones, etc. I remember my siblings and I putting one
on each finger on each hand. The cones with flat tops
fit right into the holes in the upside down bowl.
Thank you very much for your time! It
is very much appreciated!"

Rosey emailed me two doll descriptions, on of which
has now been identified:
"The next doll
I had wanted you to try to identify for me was
a fashion doll that I had gotten when I was
about four or five years old. So were talking
1984 or 1985,
doesn't mean that the doll couldn't have been
out prior to that so 82-83
could also be possible years. I remember this
doll being made just like a Barbie
but she was a brunette and
she had a beige coloured cowgirl hat,
beige cowgirl boots that resembled
the Barbie cowgirl boots, a beige vest
and the rest of the outfit is vague to me. I
know she was a western doll
and she was a quality doll with vinyl/rubber
legs that you could bend
not like those cheap grocery store dolls from
back in the 80's that you could get for like
a dollar. I don't think she was a Barbie but
I could be wrong. I do know for a fact that
she had that beautiful brown hair and I'm almost
certain that in the back of her box it showed
her riding on the back of a Brown coloured horse.
If you can help me I would be so happy. It would
bring back some fond childhood memories to be
able to see that doll again and possibly buy
it to add to my collection."

Bronwen emailed me this doll description:
"I've been searching for a male
doll that I used to have when I was little.
He was a slightly bigger build than
my other dolls (barbie etc.) and quite sturdy, very
glam rock almost like david bowie in
labyrinth. Long whitey-pinkish glam hair
and I think maybe light pink eye make-up.
His face was very well made, had an unusual look about
him sort of a matte texture, his main body was very
pale almost shiny plastic and he had all these opposable
joints. I think he could hold a mic too but
my memory's a bit fuzzy. I was born in 1985 and I must
have been 4 or 5 when I got him (1989-90).
I think he was a birthday present or something.
A friend suggested he might have been one of the Jem
dolls but he looked nothing like them. I think he was
wearing a white shiny catsuit or something but I mostly
remember him naked (heh). Anyway, it's really starting
to bother me, because that doll was something else!"

Jo emailed me this description:
"I wonder if you
can help. I'm not sure but I think it would be from the
80's. I used to have some little dolls with jointed
legs and arms, about modern polly pocket size,
that had clip on plastic clothes. The
doll came in a treasure chest shaped pink box
with a blue handle on top. with the name of the doll in
a circle in blue writing. They were about 4 inches
high, quite delicate with lovely detailed
shoes, handbags, hats
and two sided clip on clothes all made
from plastic. They also had little
room scene-setters you could buy about 5 by 8
inches which stacked on top of each other.
My original dolls are long gone, but I'd love to know
what they were so I can look out for them on ebay.
They sold them in a shop called Fords, they must have
been out about the same time as Cabbage Patch dolls. Maybe
they were some cheap non branded thing, but they seemed
to be quite well made. I wish I still had one but sadly
they were binned long ago."

Mara emailed me this description:
"When I was little,
my mother got these cute dolls for my
sister and I. I specifically remember them being purchased
at Child World in Dedham, MA, US. This was from around
the Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie era.
I want to say that these were made around 1982-1984.
These dolls had plastic, chubby faces
like Strawberry Shortcake dolls, but with simple features,
like moon-eyes with a wedge taken out, little
smiles, and cloth bodies. They were about Strawberry
Shortcake size, very simple, with emphasis on the country
charm. They had velcro on their hands
so they could hold stuff, hold each other, whatever. They
typically came with some sort of little piece
of furniture, made of thin wood with a one-colour
silkscreen paint job. They had notches in them so you
could put them together yourself.
I remember having a doll with light pink hair,
a raspberry-coloured body with white
polka-dots, and a light pink jumper over. There was a
baby doll, and all I can remember is
that her hair was glued on. All of these dolls had yarn
hair glued on to their scalps.
Additional accessories could be had. My sister had a school
desk for one of her dolls that I remember I really liked
because it had a hinged top (that eventually broke). I
remember a cradle, and I think the pink doll came with
a chair. I know there was a couch, too.
Whoever made these dolls didn't sink a lot of money into
advertising or artwork - I think all of the packaging
showed photos of the dolls and playsets, but I don't recall
any complex artwork on the packaging. I'm pretty sure
they were not released by one of the major toy companies
of that era, either. All of these factors make finding
these dolls very difficult!
I'm going crazy trying to remember them. My mother recently
found them, but threw them out due to extensive damage.
I'd love to find them again.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!"

Sophie emailed me with this description:
"I have long searched for this
toy, which I had (and lost) when I was very small, in
the mid 1980's. All I remember is that it was a plastic
hedgehog (most likely on all fours). The hedgehog
was maybe less than 2 inches.
I know it is nothing to go on and I have no pictures,
but I still long for my little hedgie after all these
years, and would love to replace him, if only I knew
what he was!"

Angela emailed me these
two doll images and Harley emailed me some extra details:
They were around 12"
high with glittery in their hair, and when you
squeezed the empty hand the wand would light up.
There was also a horse and were called
something like Sweet Dreamies. They appear
to have plastic heads and plush
bodies and had a compartment for batteries inside
the body. They also came in pink and purple.
Zuse emailed me to say "they were produced by DSI
in 1997. This company is out of business
now (they're the ones that did the remakes of Tyco Kitty
Kitty Kittens). I don't know if these dolls were an original
line or a copy of an old one".

Amy emailed me with this description:
"Could you help me
with a toy? It was a hard plastic brown dog
that sat upright. You could give him
a bone or biscuit then it would drop
down into his tummy where you could open the tummy
compartment to retrieve the biscuits. I think
they were in bone shape. The dog came with four or five
biscuits. I had this dog in the early 80's. Maybe 1982.
I have looked all over eBay and the web and the closest
looking dog was a dog by IDEAL and one from Romper Room.
But these were not the ones. My dog did not walk or do
anything but eat the biscuits. Thank you so much for your
help."

Marta emailed me this plush
toy's image and description:
"I am trying
to locate and/or find out any info. I can about
a stuffed animal that my daughter had when she
was little. It was a brown and white plush
rabbit. She named him "Charlie"........and
it is possible that it had a tag on it, that had
that name. My mother bought it for her around
1983. Possibly at a K-Mart store.
My daughter lost it a few years ago in a move
and we have been trying to locate one ever since.
If you could help that would be great."

about Human Beans:
"I've been
trying to search about the line of dolls called
the Human Beans. This is a baby
picture of me in 1986 holding a Human
Bean doll and I can't seem to find any
results of Human Bean dolls. The only thing I
can find on them are ceramic figures and ornaments.
Do you know anything about the Human Beans dolls?"

Immeruth emailed me this Jammie
Pies type doll image and description:
"I need to
identify a sweet little doll I found last summer
at a yard sale. Possibly this unknown doll is from
the 80's, but the sale had a huge pile of stuffies
and dolls, so I really can't say it is from the
80's.
She is about 11 inches tall (to
the ear tips), her face is soft vinyl,
but her head and the rest of her is stuffed. Her
clothes are cotton or cotton blend. I'm assuming
that her tag was on the left side because there's
semi-sloppy re-sewing there as if someone had ripped
the tag off!!"
Regards, Immeruth

Farore
added - "I can say for sure that this doll
was not from the 80s, as my little sister had
one for years and years and she was not born
until '92, didn't get the doll until '93 or
'94 most likely. I don't think it was part of
any set, either - I believe it was just one
of those random middling-quality department
store no-name-brand toys. I could be wrong about
that last part though."

Clay emailed me this doll image and description:
"I've been
searching for months now for the maker and model
of doll my friend has had since she was a baby.
Now the doll is in tatters, and no one ever knew
her origin. The only things we know for certain
is that the doll was purchased at a KMart in August
of 1988, and this particular doll also came in brunette,
redhead, and African American
versions. I have done what researching I can, and
I'm almost certain that the doll was made by Amtoy
as this doll and Amtoy's dolls of the 80's all shared
the same characteristics, the most obvious of them
being the screen-printed face that's
nearly identical across the board. However, I can
still not pin down which exact doll this is, and
I would appreciate any kind of info you could help
me with."

Sara emailed me this image and
says:
"Hi, I'm looking for a
doll I got my for my 5th birthday
(1983). She came in a black
box and had a pink soft body
and her head was plastic and she had, instead
of hair, like lamb ears with the fuzzy
wool on it. She was in a "sleeping
bag" type wrap that reminded me
of the outside of a corn husk and had a blue
bottle with her. I've been trying to
find this doll forever and am not sure what's
she's called, or even if she was anything more
then a random item off the shelves. I have one
picture of the party and she is sitting on the
ground at the very front but the picture is
not much of a help."

Jana and Lara Dowling emailed
me this image of a group of little dogs.
"I got
these dogs in the late
80s/ early 90s. They aren't stamped
with anything, but they are painted
and have heart collars and
heart paws. They each had
a bow originally, and they
have a loop on the back of
their neck for a leash to
fit through, I think. There was also a
white and pink poodle that I no longer
have, but would desperately like to find again.
Any information would be much appreciated."

Lori emailed me about Jana &
Lara's little dogs. She says:
"I have what
I believe is the full set of those dogs. Sadly,
I don't remember what they're called and it's been
something I always wanted to know again. I do have
pictures of more though, if that would help. I
know as a child I got almost all of them and I had
seven so I believe I'm correct in that there are
only eight. They all had bows on their heads and
sprigs of hair on their heads and rumps."

Lauren emailed
me this picture of a toy she used to own as a child
and says:
"I am trying
to find out what the small blue doll
with antenna and wings
is called. I remember my sister had an identical
one only it was pink and
purple. The antenna were a soft
plastic and would light up.
I am sorry this description is a little vague but
after years of no one remembering this toy I found
it in the background of a christmas picture, from
1986. I have looked through multiple
80's toy list from A-Z and have come up empty handed.
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you."

"I have no idea
if you can help me identify this set of dolls
I had, but they were about 8 inches high,
one was blonde, one was brunette,
another war a curly redhead. They were
based around the theme of being a teenager
(no, they weren't Barbie's) something like "teen
girls". I know I am giving you the vaguest
definition of them, so I apologise. Thanks muchly."

Amanda emailed me this description:
"An item that I loved were little
ponytail holders with a plush doll
attached which had about 12" of
long, small strand yarn hair. (I believe they
were available in pink, purple or blue). You used the
ponytail holder and then would braid the doll's
hair in with your own. The end result was a
braid with colourful yarn weaved into it and a tiny
doll perched at the top of it. They were '80s toys probably
prior to '85 if I remember correctly. They were not
uber popular toys, however, in my group of friends,
they were definitely the toys to have! Also, I don't
know if this might help at all, but I believe they were
purchased from K Mart. I don't recall seeing them at
any other stores. I really hope you or one of your visitors
will be able to help me. Thank you so much!"

This furry little
hedgehog was emailed to me by Jackie,
and looks to be just larger than a baby Keyper:
"I used to
have a toy like this as a kid, except its hair was
red/yellow polka-dotted and its body was yellow,
so apparently there were a variety of colours
made. My toy came from Paris, France
in the mid-to-late 80's (it was
a present from a relative on a business trip) and
this photograph was taken by a French woman who
found hers at a flea market. The pictured hedgehog
is not mine, as my hedgehog was lost several years
ago, so I can not say if it has a manufacturer's
name on it or anything. The toy had a vinyl
body and fluffy back hair.
I called mine "Gina," but I don't know
if I made that up or if that was its actual manufactured
name. I hope you can help! :) The relative who bought
it told me that there were many more fluffy hedgehogs
like it in the store, but can not remember what
store it was or what they were called. Since it
was bought in the 80's, that store probably does
not exist anymore."
