| Baby
Ponies with First Tooth |
|
Baby Ponies
with First Teeth were just that! They were
the offspring of both So Soft and Twinkle-Eyes Ponies
(although all had regular eyes). Baby Lickety-Split
was the only pony to have been sold in another form
previously, and all the ponies were babies of existing
characters (although not all of these adults were
sold in the UK).
Each
pony came with a toothbrush and toothpaste, a pair
of Party Panties (instead of a nappy),
a hair ribbon
and a comb. They also each came
with two of the following small accessories: training
cup, pillow
with tooth (in pocket), teething ring, Glo Worm,
stacking toy
or bib.

Big
Brother Ponies [UK name "Adventure Boy
Ponies"] |
|
Big Brother
Ponies were the first set of male ponies
to be introduced. They were a little larger than the
female ponies and had Clydesdale-style hair molded
on their hooves.
In the UK
they were called Adventure Boy Ponies
and some had different names. The UK also had an exclusive
set of male ponies called Mountain Boy Ponies,
released slightly earlier than this set.
Each pony came with
a hat which matched their symbol's theme, coloured
neckerchief and brush or comb.

Flutter
Ponies |
|
Four more Flutter
Ponies were introduced in Year 5, now with
slightly stronger wing holders. They had non-flower
themed symbols and still had a smaller version of
their symbol on either their cheek or forehead like
last years ponies. In the US Rosedust
and Lily returned from Year 4 unchanged,
and in the UK it was Morning
Glory and Lily. This was
the last set of Flutter Ponies, to be taken over by
two differently designed winged ponies released in
Years 6 and 7.
Each pony came with
a metallic ribbon and hair pick, and in the UK only
a round puffy sticker.

Boy Ponies [UK set] |
|
Mountain
Boy Ponies were only sold in the UK.
They were made in the Big Brother
Ponies mould, but unlike that set they all
had freckles and were meteorologically rather than
sports/hobby themed.
Each pony came with
a brush or comb and round puffy sticker.

| Newborn
Twins |
|
Newborn Twins were
the smallest ponies so far. There were six sets,
some of which were identical (differently posed
to tell them apart), some had the same coloured
bodies but different coloured hair and some had
opposite colouring. Each pair had the same symbol.
More Newborns were released in Year's 6, 7, 11 and
12.
Each pair came with
one large accessory and a few smaller ones. Each set
also came with two nappies (in one box), two white
bottles, and two ribbons.
In the UK
only Dibbles & Nibbles and Sniffles
& Snookums were sold. They came with
the same accessories as the US release and also a
round, puffy sticker.

| Pony
Friends |
|
"Baby
animal friends for all your ponies."
Pony Friends
were a set of four different animals for the ponies
to play with. They each had a symbol or design on
their bodies and long brushable hair. A second set
of four was released in Year 6.
The US Hasbro catalogue
pictured these four friends with a set of dolls
similar to Molly and a First Tooth Baby Sundance.
Unfortunately these were just prototypes
and were never released. None of the Pony Friends
were released in the UK.
Pony Friends each
came with a brush or comb and a hair ribbon. |

Princess
Ponies [+ UK set, Euro variations + prototypes] |
|
 |
Princess
Ponies had tinsel in their hair and raised
medallions for symbols. Each medallion was a different
shape and had a gem in the middle.
In the US
each pony came with a Bushwoolie
attendant (an odd looking creature from the cartoon
TV series) whereas in the UK they
each came with a baby dragon attendant
(like Spike). The UK Princess Ponies also had different
names (as specified below), but otherwise were no
different. Apart from the dragons, all accessories
remained the same although some were different colours.
Each Princess Pony
came with an attendant, glittered hairpick with stars,
gold-trimmed ribbon, sparkling magic wand, damsel
hat with raised silver-glittered shapes & gold-trimmed
streamers.

Sleepy Newborns |
|
Soft Sleepy
Newborns were approximately nine inches high,
with hard vinyl bodies (not plush or flocked as implied
by their name) and long brushable hair. They had Beddy-Bye
Eyes with long black eyelashes that open
and close, and you could also gently pull on their
tails and their eyes would close.
None of these ponies
were released in the UK.
They each came with
a bonnet and pants, dummy, large grooming brush and
a hair ribbon. |
|
|
|
So
Soft Ponies |
|
Five more So
Soft Ponies were added to the large collection
from Year 4. Unlike the Year 4 So Soft Ponies, none
of these fiver were produced in any other form than
flocked. As before, none of these ponies were released
in the UK.
Each pony came with
a either a brush, comb, or hairpick, and hair ribbon.

+ UK/Euro variations] |
|
Twice as
Fancy Ponies had symbols which covered both
of their sides and their backs. They even had a smaller

or under one eye. They also all had curly hair. Another
set would be added in Year 6 and all of this years
ponies would have a baby in Year 8.
Each pony came with
a brush, comb or hairpick and hair ribbon.
In the UK
Twice As Fancy Ponies were called Party Ponies
and both versions of Milky Way were available.
