There were three types of head moulds used, with either a pony tail or bunchies, in various singular bright colours. There were also three skin tones used. No combination was used more than once, so all dolls were unique.

"The new Merbabies are a collection of six miniature mermaid dolls designed to make bathtime more fun. When kids put a Tub Tints tablet into the Merbaby's tail fin, they watch the doll create a colourful trail. Merbabies come with their own brush and their own Mer-Pet."

The six original dolls each came with Mer-Pet, a packet of Fizzy Tints and a brush.

There were six Floral Merbabies produced according to the back packaging of one of the Italian playsets. Each doll had a floral name and came with two Mer-Pets each, a packet of Fizzy Tints and a brush too. The Mer-pets were smaller than the original ones and didn't have names. The moulds were also repeated although the colours changed. The packaging image below shows their Italian names.

There was one doll produced which was sold with a vanity bag containing several hair accessories, a small animal friend (blue and pink sea horse with yellow tail, not pink as in publicity image on right) and a packet of Fizzy Tints. The doll was called Buttercup.

There were three princess dolls sold with a large plastic wind-up sea creature and a brush. They also appear to have been sold in two types of packages, one with "Fizzy Tints" and one with "Tub Tints". The Tub Tints packaging had the dolls name written on it, where as the Fizzy Tints packaging did not. All these dolls had tiaras but no Mer-Pets.

There was also a Princess Bride doll, who came with two flower girls, a packet of Fizzy Tints, a brush and colour change jewels on her dress (but no Mer-Pet). Like the princess dolls above, she came with a tiara.

There were three Teeny Merbabies produced, sold individually or as identical twins. Whether sold singularly or as twins, each doll or pair came with one Mer-pet (even smaller than before), a brush, one packet of "Tub Tints" and clothing with tail, where the Tub Tints could be placed. Therer  is also mentions "Sea Jewels". The packaging image below of the twins shows their Italian names, but only of the individualy sold dolls for some reason.

I know of one playsets doll, which came with the Euro version of the Magic Water Palace. I don't know the dolls name, but she wore a dress in the same style as the original dolls and came with the same pets as Lavander (from the Floral series).

There was one large doll produced, which could light up and sing. She was about 34cm tall and came with a wand, brush and plastic starfish containing several small sea jewels, which sounds like they could clip together to form a bracelet.

This doll was also produced by MGA Entertainment and sold under the name of "My Beautiful Mermaid", with no mention of the Magic Mermaids line.
