Rainbow Brite started life as an animated television series introduced by Hallmark in 1984. From there came plush dolls, poseable PVC figures and miniatures, playsets and an abundance of other accessories including books, videos, comics, stationary, bedding and much more.

All mages on this page are from eBay, Hallmark booklets or mine!

Plush Colour Kids

Rainbow Brite and her friends were produced in various different sizes of plush dolls. All Colour Kids and Friends had removable clothes.

Small Plush Dolls
These dolls were approximately 9 inches tall and had plush bodies with plastic heads. They also had velcro on one hand to attach their Pocket Sprites to. These dolls were also sold without their Pocket Sprites.

Plush Friends

An advertisement shows these three 9 inch dolls, along with Rainbow Brite, were due for release as Dress-Up Dolls. They were test marketed in specific countries (Moonglow in Germany and Stormy in Australia), but because Rainbow Brite was soon after discontinued the Moonglow and Stormy dolls were never made available to the general world-wide market. Tickled Pink was the only one to go into production, but is still hard to find.
Although Moonglow dolls were extremely limited in production she does still exist (confirmed by Kelly who owns one), whereas Stormy has yet to be seen anywhere!

Other Sprites
Other Sprites include Clip-On Sprites (clips on tops of heads), Gripping Sprites (hands gripped together so they could hold onto things) and ones with wooly hair (rather than furry). I have no idea how many characters were produced in each style.
