Strawberry Shortcake
was produced by Kenner in the early 1980's, with
Strawberry Shortcake herself being originally
created as a greeting card by American Greetings.
She and her friends became so popular that it
led to the production of thousands of other products,
including video games, sticker albums, clothes,
movies and much more. SSC dolls and accessories
were re-issued in 1991, again in 2002 and still
going strong today!
There were 21 characters
in total, released over five years in
various forms. Each doll was dressed in a hat,
dress, pants, stripy socks and shoes (or similar)
and scented like their name and all came with
pets.
