Strawberry Shortcake was produced by Kenner in the early 1980's, with Strawberry Shortcake herself being originally created as a greeting card by American Greetings. She and her frineds became so popular that it led to the production of thousands of other products, including video games, sticker albums, clothes, movies and much more. SSC dolls and accessories were re-issued in 1991, again in 2002 and still going strong today!

There were 80 miniatures produced over four years (1980-84), each one scented. The sixteen Deluxe mini's (1982-3) were two part toys, consisting of the miniature doll and an accessory. The last miniatures produced in 1983 are the hardest to find.

There was also a five playsets produced for the mini's to play in.

Kenner produced twelve deluxe miniatures in 1982 and six more in 1983. Each character came with a small accessory to play with.
