Take Your Care Bear To Work Day

I rarely buy second-hand toys, preferring the pot luck of charity shops, but a couple of weeks ago I went a bit mad a bought a My Pet Monster and a group of Care Bears from eBay. Monster turned up first, then last Monday these guys turned up at work!

Perky’s Shagadelic Ukulele Of Doom

A step out through Leigh on Saturday afternoon brought forth Hoobs aplenty, plush My Little Ponies, a kittenless Kitty Surprise, a friend of YooHoo, and more Clangers. Plus Austin Powers, Indiana Jones, George Formby, Frankie Howerd and ilk, and Pinky & Perky. I also bought an adapter and two loose plugs. Yeah, baby!

Galactic Clockwork Wars

A rummage through the rather sparse 10p toy box in the Salvation Army charity shop this week resulted in six Star Wars figures, two Battlestar Galactica figures, and a The Black Hole figure. I also found a Playmobil and similar figure, plus A Clockwork Orange by Penguin Books from their Film Classics series. Film classic finds all round!

About A Keyper

I had a small jackpot today from my charity shop rummaging. I found a lovely condition plush Keyper for 10 pence. 10p! I also bought the purple Flufflings I had my eye on a couple of weeks back, a sweet little rag story book and two paperback novels (About A Boy by Nick Horby and Dodger by Terry Pratchett).

The Dandy Brossette

I bought this large pile of 1980’s Dandy comics a few weeks back, along with various other items. I went carefully through them to sort them out into years, then stashed them away and forgot to photograph them. Among the pile was also Wow, a Christmas issue of Beano, and the cover from a Transformers comic.

On My Way With Farting Flufflings

I came back with an excellent selection of toys and books from the Lions charity shop last Saturday, including a full set of Sesame Street “On My Way” books, a Jack and Jill book from 1971, and various soft toys including a farting Grumples, a moaning Flufflings, a talking Hoobs, an accident prone Mr Men, a tiny Furby, and a baby Puppy Surprise!

D.A.R.Y.L.Q.U.E.S.T.

I quick browse through the charity shops on my way home Wednesday found me a sci-fi double of Galaxy Quest and D.A.R.Y.L., both in excellent nick. I love Galaxy Quest and we watched it straight away but I haven’t seen D.A.R.Y.L. in years, so by Grabthar’s Hammer, I will watch it this weekend!

Frasier’s Bleak Maze

We popped over to Rayleigh last Saturday for a snoop around the charity shops (and a few pints in The Half Moon), and found a selection of books and TV series DVD’s, including series one of Frasier, BBC’s Bleak House, and the first three Maze Runner books.

Teenage Mutant Fantasy Pigs

I couldn’t do a trip back to the homeland (Bath) without perusing the charity shops along Mooreland Road last Monday. I came back with two modern reprints of Fighting Fantasy books, a Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles book, and two “Well-Loved Tales” Ladybird books. I also bought Leon, Amelie, and Twilight.

Powerpuff Girls

Whilst out charity shopping in Westcliff last weekend we also popped into Argosy Toys where I found two Powerpuff Girls figures at half price. As soon as we returned home I ordered the third one from eBay, which swiftly turned up on Thursday.
