John Mayhew was born 1824 in bromham, Bedfordshire and was the second of five children from his fathers first marriage. His mother died when he was six and when his father remarried three years later John had another seven siblings. Both John and his father worked as Agricultural Labourers and his step mother was a Lacemaker.

Louisa Barker was born on 2nd May 1830 in Kempston, Bedfordshire and was the eight of ten children. She was a Lacemaker like her mother and her father was an Agricultural Labour.

Name:

Mercy Barker Mayhew
M
Born:
  1851
in:
  Kempston, Bedfordshire

Marriage:
  25 December 1878
in:
  All Saints, Kempston, Bedfordshire

Spouse:

Robert Wilsher

Died:
  1889
in:
  Kempston, Bedfordshire

Occupation:
  Agricultural Labourer's Wife

Mercy had two children whilst unmarried. The first one in 1869 (father unknown), and the second one in 1877. Her second child was registered with the middle name of Wilsher so the father was her soon to be husband Robert's. They were in no obvious hurry to marry as it took them about a year and a half after the birth of their first child (and probably only then because she was pregnant with their second child)! They had four children together in total before Mercy died aged 39.

  1911

Isaac and his wife Sarah had five children. The first three were quite close together (the second child died aged two), then there was an eight year gap before their forth child was born and was another eleven years before their fifth and final child. There could have been other children inbetween who died, but I have no way of confirming that.
