Sorry to bother you with a silly question as I cannot buy anything, but what is plastic seepage?

No problem. Okay my sister could explain this better than me but I will do my best. The plastic is made up of many different components. As plastic ages it can go through different phases of degradation or break down. What she has is where a chemical in the plastic is wearing away over time. It causes discoloration and eventually she will be hard as a rock because the plastic will have lost its malleability. I don't believe there is a good treatment other than storing her properly and hoping for the best.
If anyone has better words to describe what I am trying to say please feel free to jump in.

Wow that is really fascinating (and dreadful). Thanks for the information. As far as I know what's most important is to avoid humidity and severe hot or cold temperatures. It kind if feels unfair somehow because you'd think this would happen to toys much older than 10 to 30 years old. But what do I know about plastic?

It's sad too because otherwise she is a great little doll. But I want to make sure people are aware she has some damage so they aren't disappointed. :)
