Title: Calico Critters
Post by: Fairy Dust on Sunday 03 October 2010, 01:42 am
Found something cool today.  I spend $3.00 at a garage sale and got the Calico Critter carry case (that doubles for a fold out house), a toy boy bench, a stroller, and 15 of the Calico Critter figures!  Yay!

I got a bear family (5 of them, 1 was a baby), a dalmation family (5 of them, 1 was a baby), a mom rabbit and two babies,& a cat and a baby.

I love the mama rabbit even though she's missing her apron.  She remind me of my older Sylvanian figures. :D

That's an amazing deal! Those puppies are pricey at stores!

I didn't think I'd ever buy them since they were so expensive.  I was at the right place at the right moment.  I normally don't go into that neighborhood to garage sale in.  Guess I'll have to go in there again sometime in the future just in case lol.

I love these!  I think they are so sweet.  I would have liked these as a little girl too.

I've seen a picture of the baby persian cats but I don't think I've seen the family.  I do like the baby picture I saw.

I'm so conflicted in liking these or just thinking they are cute but not the older Sylvanian ones (which I collect because they my childhood ones with a few dupicates and a nude mole family too lol).  I like the new baby poses but I think I'm so used to the old baby pose that it's hard for me to love the new baby poses as much.  I like the new details they gave the faces but again the older ones faces are what I like better.  Like the foxes.  The older fox face is solid brown/orange.  Now they have so many details and colors on them that I feel a little disconnected to them.  Am I weird for this?  I think the ones I like the least is the new bear family I have.  It's not that they are bad I just like my tan, (old) brown, and grey Sylvanian ones more. I still think they are all super cute.  Just been trying to think if all of them will stay here with me or not.

I think it's common for people to like things better that are more like the things they liked originally (in this case original sylvanians).

I wonder if the dye method in the post about the custom LLL dog would work for these?

Wardah- I bet some of these would easily take dye.
