This is a neat idea!

What do you all think?

would be awesome... if you have the room

Cute!
Also, AngelBear:
I read your blog about the white shelf. I think that's brilliant and know exactly how you feel! I've been trying to do something similar. If you have EVERYTHING around all the time - then you just stop seeing it anymore. And then there's always the fun of other people being overwhelmed by a collection that you've grown accustomed too.
And the backgrounds would make something on display even more special. :)

Those are too cute! I saw some Star Wars ones on a website once and wished there were ones for more toys.

Those backgrounds actually make me think of an idea I read about in a magazine (and had heard of before that). You make (or buy) cubby-type shelves, and line the inside (whether the back is a panel, or the wall where you hung the box) with wallpaper or fabric.
Okay, not the best description... I think I have the magazine that it was featured in, I can scan the picture to show what I mean.

These look like a good idea to me , I kind of get tired of them just sitting on the book shelf.
