I found this little lady at a thrift store a few weeks ago, and just thought I'd share :) She's got the same face mold as a RPP place doll, though obviously she's dressed more like a SSC one.

Isn't she neat? I love old fakies!
-
I don't know who she is.. but she's wearing Lemon Merangue's outfit.
-
Oh yeah, she really does look like Rose Petal. And yep, she's wearing Lemon's clothes!
-
What's weird about the outfit is that she was wearing it when I got her, and I got her in a clear bag stapled up (like some really cheap fakies are packaged with the card board at top and the hanging clear bag). So, she was still essentially in package, though it was damaged.
That's why I said "like SSC"... because it shouldn't actually be the authentic outfit. I agree that it looks identical though.
The face is all RPP though :)
-
Awesome! I've never seen any RPP fakies! If you ever decide you don't want her..
-
this is so cute looking i have seen nothing good lately

Neat find! The Rose Petal Place doll fakies with Strawberry Shortcake clothes seem to have been sold under the name "Super Stars"...you can see pics of new-in-package ones in this link (scroll all the way to the bottom, left-hand side):

Cool! Looks like on eBay that the same company/line put out some fakie Maxie/Jem dolls.
-

It seems they are not so much fakies as factory seconds that this company bought and cobbled together to make complete dolls. Meaning that that head is probably a real Rose Petal Place head and her outfit might just be be a real SSC one.
-
So mystery (probably) solved!
That sounds like heaven... the 80s doll Franken-Doll factory. They could take the best of EVERYTHING.
The ultimate customs. :-P
-
Ah but the sad thing is it seems a lot of times they had heads and not bodies and had to use cheap generic bodies.
-
Yeah, I guess you're right. I looked at that link and saw some of the "neckless" dolls, haha.
-
Regardless, if I found them at a dime store, I'd buy them all!
-
Awesome! I'd read about the Jem Super Stars before and I was wondering if these might be similar to those. I'd like to get my hands on some of the RPP ones and I've wanted the Rio with a girl body and long hare for a while now. I think he's hilarious!

i kinda wonder if a line went down and a factory got stuck with overproduced stuff if they just sold to the highest bidder. or at least sent it off to anyone who was willing to buy it. this is something i will look out for.

What an awesome find!

Love the Pics! Thanks for Sharing.

Sorry to unearth another old topic, but last night I was thinking about these fakies for whatever reason and I realized that their bodies are actually clones of Good Grooming Gals! Anyway.. I thought it was pretty cool. They're like Frankendolls!

Those are really cute, I have never seen them before!!

Spotted another one that sold. I hope it went so high because of the coloring book...

Awesome to know it's got some value. :) I've got one packaged like that with the G2 SSC coloring book. I bought it because it was so odd. I'll have to dig it out sometime.
-
What's strange about the clothing is that she was dressed in it when I got her, and I got her in a obvious bag affixed up (like some really inexpensive fakies are packed with the cardboard boxes at top and the clinging obvious bag). So, she was still basically in program, though it was broken.
That's why I said "like SSC"... because it shouldn't actually be the genuine clothing. I consent that it looks similar though.
The experience is all RPP though
