Hiya,
I'm looking for ID or pictures of a doll I had when I was little. This would have been the late 80s/early 90s.
The doll had long dark blonde/light brown hair with bangs/fringe. She had a section at the top of her head, within a pink patterned circle that was stuck onto her head - this section of hair grew when you pulled it out of the hole, and shrunk back into her head again, when you pressed a section of her back.
The section on her back was about the size for a child's thumb to push, and was flesh-coloured like the rest of the doll's body.
The doll itself was almost exactly the same size and body shape as Barbie. She had bent arms, a grinning face and was wearing a really smart, well-made outfit - a dress which had a white vest top and a blue striped skirt and she had a short blue striped matching jacket.
She came with lots of pink hair accessories and a brush and comb.
Any info on this doll would be fantastic, as I'd love to find one again xxx

Sounds similar to Dolly Surprise but the mechanism sounds different. For Dolly surprise you used her arm to feed and retract the hair. But they do have the pink circle you are talking about.

Hi,
My doll was the same size as Barbie and definitely an 'adult'!
But the Dolly Surprise dolls were so cute - I had one of those too! x

The pics on ebay were bad, so this one is from: http://www.thearcthriftstore.com/proddetail.php?prod=AAD608&PHPSESSID=uvabcpwg

No, that's not her. My one didn't come with scissors or replacement hair.
What a mystery!

This is exactly her!!!!!
There's no mention here of this one's hair growing - but it does - look at the pink thing on top of it's head - the hair grew from there, as I described!!!!!
YAY!!!! I'm SO happy!!!!!

I'm also looking to ID the doll Lauralovelylocks was talking about. Thought i had finally found the answer after lots of searching but the link in her last post doesn't work.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Is lauralovelylocks still active on the forum?
Thanks in advance

Here is the doll:
She is a Fashion Corner Growing Hair doll, made by Lucky Ind.
She's wearing her original clothing - a blue and white striped dress and bolero (which also came in white).

Amazing!!!!
My one isn't pictured - she has that pink striped outfit but in blue and light brown hair.
I remember clearly getting her from Woolworths and opening the packaging to see all the pink accessories :-)

Was this her? EDIT: Saw that yours had a different outfit.
