I can never seem to be able to find anything on this guy (even pictures), so I guess this is the place to ask!
In the early 90s (maybe late 80s, but I really think early 90s)... I received this purple mosquito puppet (You were able to put the whole hand / forearm in). When you opened his mouth, he'd make an evil buzzing noise; and when you closed the mouth, he'd shut up.
It reminded me of a muppet, specifically kermit.. because the inside of it's mouth looked very similar. (I want to say he had large white plastic eyes like kermit too).
edit: Thanks soooo much Zuse ^__^~

I just found this while searching:
Plush Mosquito Hand Puppet with sound
While in college (1986-1989) I purchased a purple plush mosquito puppet from Cracker Barrel restaurant in northern Ohio (along I-75). The very next day it was stolen while packing the car at the hotel we stayed at for our final night of vacation. I have been searching for a replacement ever since. The mosquito was light purple and you put your hand all the way in. Your fingers opened and closed the mouth which activated the mosquito "buzz" sound. Your fingers did not make the mosquito legs work. If anyone has any ideas where I might find one...I would be eternally greatful!

Oh, I'll bet this is it! "Sting Mosquito." (Party Animals by Axlon).
Apparently they were designed by Bonnie Erickson, the creator of Miss Piggy (thus the Muppets resemblance!)
It's in the 1986 Sears Wishbook (scanned in by wishbook on flickr.com)
