Close! They came with a barbie pet shop set and are often mixed in with vintage LPS. The set is 90's. Probably mid 90's.
Now I've just looked and ebay and I would swear to you on my life they came with playset: http://cgi.ebay.com/Barbie-pet-Shop-1997-NRFB-/270719381283?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0821ef23 but it doesn't look thye did. Maybe they came with another pet shop/grooming playset and those were the only bits I saved of it and put it with my new set? I know the set these two came with also had a blue carrier with a white door.

I thought maybe it was more of a grooming type set since they have brushable hair.
