Title: [ID: Fruit Scented Matchpack by Fun World] Mini pie scented dolls...
Post by: Jennylit on Tuesday 22 March 2011, 03:42 pm
I'm not sure if I can get help here bc the doll I'm looking for was in the US. I vacation in Ocean City NJ and when I was younger they sold these mini fruit pie scented dolls that came in tiny matchboxes(about3 inches) in a store called Hoy's 5&10. I guess it was around the years 1991-1995? I have been searching for these little dolls forever! If anyone can help me figure out what they were called I would be so grateful! I think they came in peach, lemon, blueberry, strawberry.

I think these dolls are much older but they match your description.

Fruit Scented Matchpack produced by Fun World.

From a previous thread:

Immeruth emailed me to ID this little doll as a Fruit Scented Matchpack produced by Fun World. Unfortunatly there is no date attached to these dolls, of which there were at least three made: Apple Pie, Berry Pie and Peach Pie. Their boxes were 3"x2"

We have lots of US and other international members, so if you have any more to be ID-ed don't hesitate!

No problem  :)

The Cherry Pie one I posted is for sale here. The seller wants $20 for it.

Unfortunately that is the only one a quick Google search yielded, but I'll keep an eye out.  :)

Here's another MOC I saved awhile back. Some say "Fruitie Pie" and others say "Sweetie Pie." Weird. Both pictures I've posted are "Apple Pie."

I've only seen three of these - Peach, Berry, and Apple Pie.

Fun-World seems to have done their doll series from that time in sets of three. (They assign 1 of 3 eye and mouth styles to each color. For example, Berry has the "closed eyes" one. The Milk Shake dolls by them do this too).

Another more mainstream(?) series was Mattel's "Shoe Baby Beans."

Fun-World also made the more realistic "Matchpack Career Cuties" dolls. They look more like the Mattel ones.

This person has an entire collection of them (Pierino Baby William, etc.)
