I believe she is 12" tall, by Hasbro.
Thanks for any input!

What does the ball on her head do!?
-
I wish I knew. :( I'm almost positive I used to have her years and years ago, though.
-
I see the blonde version of her around at thrift stores. Is she something you would want me to pick up for you, or do you already have her and just want to know more about her? I could probably look at her head stamp the next time I see her if nothing else.
-
Hey thanks for replying.
Oh wow, how interesting! No, actually, I would just love to see what she looked like brand new and who she was. I received her in kindergarten as a second-hand toy. I no longer have her.
That would be wonderful if you looked at the head stamp!! Thank you so much. :)
-
I'm going to stick my neck out and say the ball on her head is some sort of magic 8 ball?
-
Did anybody ever figure this one out?
-
I remain clueless. :(

-
Stumped but I'm stubborn and won't give up till I figure it out or lose my mind which ever comes first lol
-
Maybe she isn't by Hasbro after all? It wouldn't be impossible for whoever put it on eBay to get it wrong somehow...
:(

She looks like I big Kelly Doll to me. Maybe we should try contacting Mattel or Hasbro with the picture to ask if they made her?
Update: I emailed Hasbro, but having a hard time finding a Mattel email.
-
I think she's one of those 'growing hair dolls' - when you cranked their arm, a section of their hair grew. Sorry, I can't remember their names, but she really looks like one that I used to have!
-
Dolly Surprise!!!!
-
Hmm I can't find one that matches.. but I'll keep an eye out for those. Thank you.

I don't think it could be a Dolly Surprise. I was just looking at one the other day and they have different faces (eyes much closer together, for one), Also, the crown/ball is right where her hair would be coming out.
-
Ooh.... the mystery continues then! ???
-
She looks a little like a ballerina doll my sister had you could get her in black or white don't think it's her though the feet look wrong wonder who the ballerina was though she had a rose in her hand.
-
Was it My Pretty Ballerina, Ianua? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KZRxovtvo0
-
Oh Cool Eden yeah that's her.
Except ours had dark skin. DEFINITELY her though I recognise the vacant stare ;D
-
That is NOT the doll that was originally posted that people are trying to identify
-
Yes we know read the entire thread ::)

Ok, I finally found this doll again (the blonde version). She is indeed stamped Hasbro, with the year 1995.
Her hat has a small hole at the top, and inside the dome of the hat, it is hollow, except for the center, which is raised. So, like a donut shape inside. The dome part of the hat can be spun, and there is a hole that lines up with a hole in the front of the crown. It's almost like you can drop something in the hat from the top (like a ball) and it will stay in there, until you spin the hat so that the hole in it lines up with the hole in the crown, and then the object can drop out.
Did that make sense? If so... any ideas what the heck would be the purpose of this?
-
Hey. Wow that sounds pretty interesting. Thank you for verifying that it is by Hasbro and even the year!! :) Great job. I can't imagine what it is she did... ugh! :(
Thanks again.

Let's think. Could the painted on seashell design swimsuit? be a clue that she was some sort of pool doll. Maybe she's a bubble blower or something.
Betcha she's in here lol

This doll has got me seriously stumped ???
-
Could be some sort of fortune teller where you drop different balls in and see which comes out when it is spun?
-
After I thought about it and kept looking at this doll I think it's a Chloe Charms. I didn't recognize it missing the accessories.

Here's an article about the doll.

I can't find much info for her on the web, not even a commercial, and i think there was one made for her.
-
Yay, ID-ed! ;D
-
Awesome! Thats a very pretty doll!
-
Yay! Great Job finding out who she is!
-
I think I've found her manual here (http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/HASBRO/CHLOE%20CHARMS-_E)
-
YAY! I'm so happy this is finally identified.
-
Okay, so the reason I didn't respond to my own thread was because I lost it. XDDD I am so sorry! I'm very glad it's finally IDed!! Thank you pikapal, and thank you everyone! :D
I do believe I used to have one, also. Her release date fits my memory.
Yaaaaaay! The mystery is solved.
