Title: Anatomically correct baby dolls, maybe Berjusa
Post by: Candice on Wednesday 17 March 2010, 07:50 pm
I have had these two dolls since the very early '90s, one boy and one girl (I named them Tony and Felicia after one of my mom's favorite soap operas when I was about 4 ^_^) I am pretty sure they arrived by mail, but do not know where they came from. I don't remember them coming with any clothing, it appears I fashioned diapers for them out of paper napkins at some point. They have no markings on them except "Made in China" on the backs of their necks. They are anatomically correct, have umbilical cords on their belly buttons, have open mouths like maybe they came with a bottle but I don't remember, have wrinkled skin and "cone"-like heads like a real newborn, and look similar to the Berjusa dolls in another post, but I am curious as to what they really are and would love if someone can confirm their identity. Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality, I snapped them from a phone cam. Any help in IDing them is much appreciated :)

In the gallery of Sears catalogs mlpMerriweather posted on the other thread there's a doll that looks similar to those:

It's on the next page too:

I can't see clearly if it has the umbilical cord, though, and it the material it's made from looks a little bit different.

UPDATE: This picture from the previous year's catalog shows its belly button very clearly, no ambilical cord:

So not it I guess. :(
