Title: Carebear Cousins Knock-off???
Post by: Mysstica on Thursday 22 September 2011, 11:05 pm
Tag is very faded, but seems to read 'Fairview Industrial Corp.' No legible year. (http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd487/Mysstica/Ghost%20of%20the%20Doll/GOTD003.jpg)

Looks like a knock-off to me! Pretty cute though. :)

Oh! *giggle* I know it's not a real Carebear Cousin. ;) I just wonder if that's sort of what this was shooting for. I can't find anything similar by the same company, so I wonder if there's a story behind this little guy. ;) (Looking to sell him.)

Trademarkia has four registered names for Fairview Industrial, all registered under soft toys in 1986/1987. I wonder if it's one of these?

Okay so it is mostly the body shape that looks similar.

That's a very common body type for cheap vintage plushies, catlover51. I had several toys with the same kind of body, including a grey mouse.

Your toy is NOT a Puffin's. Those look like this:

Currently trying to find a reference pic of Zoozels...
