Hello!
When i was 6 i had the Charmkin dolls and the windmill house. BUT i also had these mini fairy princess looking dolls too. They were just like Pixie tails except they didnt go in your hair. And they were dolls. They were full plastic bodies non pose-able, with long hair. I always played with them until we had to flee a domestic violence situation and so i lost my beloved set. I had thought about that set all the time for years and years. If anyone could help me please that would be very wonderful as I dont know what they are called and have no way to replace them unless i could find out. They came in a pack of 3-5 as i recall and were sold at K-mart and other stores in the Washington state area. i seem to recall "sprites" but i dont know if that is accurate. Please for the love of god help. Thanks.
Sorry forgot to add that i received them in (86-87) I moved from Washington and never saw them again after that year....

If those were a solid unit (not bubble skirts) i would say it was them But the ones i had where identical to these with out being detachable. The long hair full plastic bodies.. but .. still not them.. /cry These also look far to large as the ones i had were literally micro dolls... VERY small 1 inch or less... 1 1/2- 2 inches with hair

were they an 80s toy?
-
yes, sorry i didnt know if you were looking for an edit or snother post lol....
-
It's all good :-)
I know these are not fairies but could these be it- they came in what looks like packages of 3-5

Or perhaps wee wild things dolls?
-
Nope neither of those.
They were not poseable the heads where small with long hair and they had bodies that were just full plastic clothes... like.. A plastic dress no feet or anything... a head on a dress with hair.. lol geez i sound so off but its exactly what they looked like if i was good at art i would draw one! but i am not :( they are basically as i said, Charmkins with hair. That is exactly what they look like 100% to a T... i dont know what to do :( They were like southern bell flower fairys or some sort like that. The one i remember to be my Fav had Red hair and a red dress they looked much like a chess pawn would look. They had the same body structure... with hair.. Almost like a squinky... but hard... so many things ALMOST look like them... none are. :( /rips hair out.

There are 2 on ebay for $85 a piece...
The only other 1 I see for sale is on bonanza for $150....

Thanks hun, i googled it asap when i was enlightened to their name lol I found the one on Ebay and if it was the "bridal set' i would buy it, but its not. The ones i had came in a pack of 5 and i am thinking it was that set. Though i did have the ONE red one.. dont know what set that was from. As i thought they were not very popular thus they are very rare. Just like charmkins. I know its unrealistic to want to replace something like this but its literally been like a lost piece of my soul. I spent hours playing with these in my room to escape the sadness of everyday domestic abuse life. I was very bonded with these pieces. When my mother packed up our little pinto with 3 kids and clothes and sleeping stuff there was no room for toys. I remember trying to sneak it into the back of the car and she took it out and set it by the fence and said, "only things you NEED" i was so upset i cried until i threw up. I couldnt fathom leaving them. I still feel the pain as i did when i was little when i look through all the charmkin pics. I know each and every one that i had. The little girl with the blue dress and white hair was my favorite charmkin. /sigh... anyway... enough SOB story i'm sure. Thank you all for the help. <3

Oh my gosh, unrealistic is SOOOO not the case!!! I think many of us on this site are searching for these memories from our past for one reason or another. I am going to pm you (send you a personal message). But to finish up here this has been a great place to try to "escape" even if only for a moment.....There is nothing at all wrong with trying to find these items and I will certainly keep an eye out for these as I go to yard sales and such!! Good luck in the search!!

Alright so they were french known as mini pouces- there are a few being sold on Ebay france but b/c I can't read French I am not sure what this says or if they ship internationally. In this 1 in the upper left hand corner it looks like 2 of the ones you are looking for and it is about $40.

Just be patient for some to be listed. Those on eBay right now are the Sit-And-Wait sellers that buy the lots of toys still in packaging (and sometimes very cheap individual auctions) and put them in their "store." Note that all the items are the same price. Then they wait for the person looking for that one toy and is willing to splurge the $80+ for the nostalgia. Unless you MUST have it today, I'd wait for a reasonably priced auction or look around some of the toy forums to see if anyone is selling or trading. People that collect certain things (MLP or whatever) also recognize toys people their age tend to look out for and sometimes pick them up if they are a good price.

That's awful! I can't imagine her not having space for one tiny doll that could have fit into your pocket. You were a kid, what did she expect you to do with your time, just twiddle you thumbs? I hope she at least tried to make it up to you once things became stable.

But there were 2 other kids - chinarainwater's toys might've been small, but if she could bring something then the others would've wanted to bring something and it all adds up. For her mum she didn't have time to be thinking about toys - more like the was thinking how they can get away before the abuser comes home and what the hell shes' going to do with her 3 small kids and hoping no ones going to come after them.
Chinarainwater is telling us her story about why these possessions are so important to her but given the choice of keeping the dolls and staying at home or leaving the dolls and fleeing I'm pretty sure China would choose the fleeing option.
I too come froma home where there was domestic violence so I find your comments pretty blase. In these situatins quite often the mum feels really guilty anyway for taking the kids away from their home and their dad and worries if she's making the right choice (remember their self esteem is pretty much shattered - to me it's a no brainer, of course leaving an abuser is the right choice!) Your comment makes the mum seem like a bit of baddie - she was trying to get her kids away from the baddie.
-
mouse, thank you for adding this, I could not have said it better......

I'm sorry if I sounded insensitive. I have never had been in such a situation so the only thing I had to go on was her post. I definitely wouldn't suggest she stay with an abuser but her post kind of made her mom seem a little hard especially since she didn't mention if her mom did anything to make her feel better. I was just saying I hoped that wasn't the case and that she did at the very least comfort her.

No worries - I know I can come over pretty harsh. I'm not so good at explaining gently! The mum in this situation can seem hard. People think she's stupid for staying but if she leaves she has no where to go and no job and a number of kids - kids who might love their dad because they view the abuse as their mums fault or don't see the abuse at all. Sometimes the mum is really not well and then she can't really comfort her kids or it can be that she's so focused on getting away that she doesn't have time for it. Chinas mum might not even remember her being so upset - she might not really remember anything at all of that night because she was so stressed. China might remember that night super vividly because of how stressed she was. We all react differently to the same situations. Context and all that.

I have a lot of toys/stuffed animals/clothes that I need to get rid of, and wasn't quite sure what to do with them. I recently discovered that we have a domestic abuse shelter in my county. Because of this thread, it clicked that I should donate a big chunk of it to the abuse shelter here. I have no problem getting rid of things for such a cause. :)
P.S. There is also a thrift store associated with the shelter, and that's where the things that aren't "wanted" by the people at the shelter go after they've had a chance to look through everything. The store is run by volunteers, and all of the money goes back to help run the shelter. :D

What a great cause- I think I am going to start a new thread lol!!

I created a new thread on this topic :-P
