Title: Barbie (late 80s, early 90s)

I got a Barbie in the late 80s/early 90s. I want to say that she had purple eyes. I know that she didn't have bangs/fringe, but she had a long tinsel streak where her bangs/fringe would have been. Her hair was mid-back length or shorter and really shiny and soft.

Any ideas?

It was possible that she was really tan.

No, I don't think that was her - her hair is waaaaaaay too long. Thanks, though. I've seen that Barbie before and never realized that she had that tinselly hair in the front. :D

Nope, none of these either. Keep in mind that I'm not positive that her eyes were purple, but I am positive that she had a tinsel streak in her hair. I read my first post and realized that I left something out: said streak not in the middle of her head, it was off to either the left or the right. And it seems like the front part of her hair was a little shorter than the back.

Do you remember what color the tinsel was?

Also, do you happen to remember where you got her? Just throwing out the possibility that she could maybe be a fakie, and that's why we're not finding anything so far.

The tinsel was gold and silver I believe...

She was an actual Barbie, I'm sure.

What Barbie is that picture that you posted? Her belt looks familiar...

I'm not sure what the Barbie is that I posted. I just Googled "barbie tinsel" and that's what came up. I honestly just posted it because I didn't notice the hair near the left side of the picture, and I thought that the fuzzy headband was the hair!

You sure it wasn't Jem? Jem had purple eyes and Glitter and Gold Jem has gold tinsel in her hair.

I'm positive it wasn't a Jem doll - I never had a Jem doll.

I want to say that this Barbie also had dimples.

The tinsel in her hair was in the same spot and of the same color of Sun Sensation Barbie, but I remember her hair being much much shorter.

The more that I look at the Sun Sensation Barbie, the more that I am remembering her. I believe that I did have her. Although in my memory the hair is a lot shorter, I think that I may be trying to mix two separate Barbies. Let's say that it was Sun Sensation Barbie and mark this as IDed. :D
