Title: [ID: Dora the Explorer and Mattel Barbie cats] Orange kitties
Post by: Wardah on Tuesday 31 January 2012, 08:18 am
I found a couple of little orange kitties at the thrift store. One says 2005 VIACOM and the other says 1991 M.I MALASIA. Any clue what they are?

I don't have a camera right now but they are almost 2 inches tall and both of them have slit pupils which seems to be unusual for toy cats since all my other toy cats have round ones. The one that says VIACOM seems more cartoony than the other one and has white eyes. The other one has olive green eyes.

Still no clue exactly what it is but this person has a cat exactly like the one that says says 1991 M.I MALAYSIA on it. It is the one directly in front of Abu the monkey. They don't know exactly what it is either.

At least one release of the orange cat was with Pet Pals Courtney:

And a Dora cat? (I don't have proof the cat goes with the dolls as it is a loose eBay auction, although I bet it does).

Yup that's them! I am guessing this pony that says Mattel 2006 and Viacom 2006 that I been meaning to post be Dora too. Not a big fan of Dora herself but her cats and ponies are cute.

Wait. Pony marked Mattel AND Viacom 2006? Is it this pony?

I only ask because I picked her up thrifting a few months ago and didn't really know either. I noticed she had a dip in the back for a doll, and figured that she must have been a character since she's marked Viacom.

Yes, that is definitely a Dora pony. I always liked the Dora ponies, but never got one because I wouldn't really have a place for the inevitable Dora doll that came with it...
