Title: [ID: Swans Crossing & Berry Bears] Set of Dolls & Set of Bears [2009]
Post by: Ghost Of The Doll on Sunday 07 March 2010, 07:16 pm
Kathy emailed me these two toy images and description:

"I have these three dolls and ran across a few more but have no idea who they are. The dolls say 1992 Playmate Toys on their feet.

Also these little brown bears. My daughter seems to think they were a promo item in some type of fruit snack. The bears have no markings at all or dates and are about 2 inches tall.

Thanks for the help!"

Amanda replied:

"I think I recognize the three dolls in the first photo... they remind me of the Swan Lake( Valley?) High dolls I used to have... Kinda like a Sweet Valley High ripoff.... Sorry I can't be more specific, but they very much look like the same body/face molds, as well as the plastic skirt that my dolls used to have. Hope this is even a little helpful for you!"

Amanda

Andrea replied:

"Hi--I had a boy bear in yellow shirt with a baseball bat.  They were either from a fruit snack (don't know name) or Fudge Family Bears (cookies)."

Erin replied with an ID for the bears:

"I have an ID for you on toy ID#157.  They are indeed a fruit snack promo, from Berry Bears fruit snacks.  Here's a link to a youtube commercial collection which shows all 3 of the characters these toys were based on.  The Berry Bears commercial starts at 1:22.

This fruit snack line had storylines to introduce new shapes, much like older lucky charms commercials.

Hope this is helpful!

Jana replied with an ID for the dolls:

"The dolls are Swans Crossing Dolls, from a TV show in the 90s."
