Jana and Lara emailed me about a group of little dogs:
"I got these dogs in the late 80s/ early 90s. They aren't stamped with anything, but they are painted and have heart collars and heart paws. They each had a bow originally, and they have a loop on the back of their neck for a leash to fit through, I think. There was also a white and pink poodle that I no longer have, but would desperately like to find again. Any information would be much appreciated."

Additional Information & Images!
Lori emailed me about Jana & Lara's little dogs. She says:
"I have what I believe is the full set of those dogs. Sadly, I don't remember what they're called and it's been something I always wanted to know again. I do have pictures of more though, if that would help. I know as a child I got almost all of them and I had seven so I believe I'm correct in that there are only eight. They all had bows on their heads and sprigs of hair on their heads and rumps."

I'd still love to know what these are called. I believe they're from the same makers as Little Beauties.
-
I agree! This is me and my sister's post originally, and since then we have ascertained that the Little Beauties came with the same accessories (comb and mirror), and both lines are stamped the same: PRC (operating theory is that this stands for People's Republic of China) and MTC (multi toys corp.). They are also painted very similarly, obviously.
I actually have another one of these dogs now that is not pictured in my original post or in Lori's, which means that there is probably one more out there that is not known, to bring the number in the line to an even number.
Here she is (the pink one):

I also have the freckled spaniel now. If anybody knows of any others available for sale, please let me know!
-
*gasp* A pink one! And here I thought I had them all. Wah! Now I have to start hunting all over again.
-
Ahh, so you are the elusive Lori! I have stared at your pics of these pups for years now! I only just this Christmas got the poodle again, who me and my sister had growing up and lost. It was a beloved toy, so if we hadn't gotten it back, you'd have been hearing me whine, baby!
I told my sister, Lara, that you are the same person who has all these other toys that we love. She says we are definitely robbing you. Soon.
Just kidding, obviously ;)
Buuuuut... list of things I'm stealing so far:
1. Jeanette
2. White carousel LB
3. ALL YOUR DOGGIES!!!!!!! Bwahahaha!
-
Dang, I better put more locks on the doors... ;D
I love those dogs like crazy. I played with them for hours when I was a kid. All but the spaniel are from my childhood collection. I should take more pics of them. Those scans are ancient!
-
I'm so glad you've had some success on researching them! I know I'm excited about finally learning more about the Carousel Ponies!
Isn't the internet awesome! I think I only have a few more childhood toys to figure out!

I notice the spaniel is the one that still has hair... heeheehee. Well, that one and your glorious poodle.
You have a better a better bow survival rate than me though :P
-
Yeah, all of them got their front hair chopped, because I was adamant that "Dogs do not have manes. They are not horses." The poodle got to keep hers because she's a poodle and they're cut so frou frou that she may as well just have hair, too. The collie's tail got so matted that I cut it. Any other trims are from dry ends.

Okay, I think they're probably called "Pretty Little Pups." :) The logo I found is of poor quality and you can barely read the word "Little"... but the dog in the illustration looks like it has the correct face shape and the bow is very prominent.

Wooo hoooo! You got it!! The art is even familiar!
That was an incredible find. Thank you!
-
Now you have the name and the year (1990ish). :)
I was unsuccessful searching for it, though. :(
-
*GASP* OMG!!!! That's gotta be them! You are the master, Zuse!
-
I wish you guys luck in tracking down more info about them! :) It would be awesome if they popped up on eBay!
-
I started a search the minute I saw this thread ;)
-
I'm trying to imagine how the packaging would look... maybe search for "Pretty Pups" as well, in case the "Little" gets left off. It's kind of squished up at the top there. :-P
-
Yeah, when I first saw the logo, I read it as "Little Pretty Pups."
Gah, so excited!
-
Thank goodness!!! I was starting to wonder if ANYONE would identify these. WTG Zuse
-
Cool, I'll whip a quick page up for them and that might help with the search for more information!
-
I saw the page. Is there anyway for some of the toys like this where you could add details like what the figures read? For example, "MTC." That would maybe help people that just use search engines and eBay when identifying toys come across this page. If more people ID their mystery dogs, then our friends might get to enlarge their collections! :)
-
I'll take some better photos of mine when I get the chance. Those scans are so old.

I didn't reshoot the accessories, as they're in storage and the scans for those aren't too bad.
-
So cute! You're right! The scans didn't do them justice!
-
Apparently one sold back in March?
