Title: [ID: Meadow Mares] Please help ID this Barbie horse!!!!

Hi,

I got this horse at a boot sale on Sunday for 50p!!!!

I would love to know if it's a genuine Barbie horse (the saddle has 'Barbie' written on it)

and what it's name is????

And also, if poss, what year it's from????

Any help would be great! xxxx

It's definitely a real Barbie horse, but I can't remember which one- makes me kind of grumpy :P

It pops up on ebay a lot, so an ID shouldn't be too hard to come by!

Hi!  I am pretty sure this is Dragonfly (not sure if that was her actual name, just what I have written in her notes) from the Meadow Mares series of Barbie horses.   She fits the description I wrote down.  I don't have an exact date noted, but it was somewhere in the late 90's to early 2000's (anywhere from 1998 to 2001).  Mattel released a lot of Barbie horses in that time frame, including the Meadow Mares.

Yes, the Posh Pets and Meadow Mares (as well as several other series of Barbie horses) came out around the same general time frame (they would release one series, then another, and so on).   I don't know if that seller just labeled her a Posh Pet, or if maybe Mattel released her in both boxes.  But looking at what little info I can find (see below!) she was from the Meadow Mares. 



Pro-tip:  If you are going to keep notes on a bunch of different toys and collectibles, make sure you have separate notebooks for them... don't be an idiot like me and just write them down in whatever notebook or on any random piece of paper you have handy!  My Barbie horse info is all mixed up with notes on other items, what a mess.   I think I need to start from scratch!

Oops, I didn't know that my link said Posh Pets--the link came up in a Google search and it said "Meadow Mares"!  :o But I found a picture of the horse MIB. The box says "Meadow Mares" and even though I can't see the name, I'm guessing from all the dragonflies it came with that Dragonfly is correct.

I LOVE Dragonflies, so it's lovely that that's her name.

Now, I'd love to find the rest of her accessories!  ;) :D
