I have a question about the Golden Book Videos VHS--are they actually a cartoon or just still images?
I was just wondering because I bought a Hugga Bunch and it was like a book, not a cartoon (I gave it back to Goodwill).
Are all the VHS like that? I know they also did Care Bear, My Little Pony, & Moondreamers.

We have a care bears one and I'm pretty sure it's an actual moving cartoon.
Here's an article about them from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Book_Video -says they only use limited animation techniques.

I have a She-Ra one and when I was younger I rented a Strawberry Shortcake one. They basically just read you the story and add small movements.

I second BattySparkles, though I had a MLP one with the old cartoons on it as well, so it must be both.

I knew of some he-man and she-ra ones like that too. They just kind of panned over the pictures.

Here's an ad for them. And it doesn't say. I would definitely complain that the product was NOT as advertised... I mean, they NEVER came into my living room out of the TV. ;(

I had some fairy tale ones that were actually cartoons, but I don't know about the branded ones.
