Okay now there is one doll that my sisters and I have owned for years and I would really like to know if she has a name so here goes. She has long green hair and its kind of like string and she has a green and white striped dress and it has a kind of criss-cross pattern to it kind of like the letter x and she has a small white apron with a green leaf on it. And her features are printed on her face and she is all soft. So can anyone help me out. And no she is not from Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake,or Holly Hobbie. I saw a picture of her one time being held by sister and I asked my grandma about her and she believes that she was just a cheap doll so she might not even belong to a set.
-
What size was she? Was she a cloth doll? A few more specifics would help narrow down the search ;)
-
Did she talk?
-
are there any tags marks on her ?? saying year, manufacturer? or made in .....
-
Okay she was all cloth and her features were painted on her face eyes, and mouth she has a tag in her but its just one of those tags that says not to be removed until delivered to the customer. She also had a green bonnet that had the green and white striped pattern.
-
The hair you said it is like string, are we talking like Raggedy Ann (Yarn) hair?
-
No it was more like string that was used for well not sewing exactly but like the yarn we used to use for making those friendship bracelets. And her bonnet was connected to her head with only her face showing and her hands had no fingers just a bump and a thumb kind of like those gloves without the fingers and just a thumb on them. And her feet had cream colored shoes and white frilly socks and they couldn't come off. I also remember seeing another doll just like ours but the dress and hair were purple in color so maybe she's part of a set.
-
does she look anything like the doll in the link below?

No sorry that's not the doll she might not have even had a name or anything she just might have been a cheap doll from a store. I just remember the green and white striped dress and bonnet with her face sticking out and the green hair. And the apron which was small and white with a green leaf on it. She may have also had freckles on her face if that helps any.
-
Do you remember about what year you could have gotten her in?
-
There is a picture of my older sister holding her and she looks to be about 5 years old and that was 1989 so I'm guessing in the mid 80s.
-
any chance you can post the pic?
-
No because the picture is at my grandma's house and the doll is very hard to see but if I do find I will try to post a picture of her on here.
-
It sounds like it could be a Hugga Bunch. Hope this Helps.

No sorry not a Hug A Bunch doll. She might have just been a doll that had no name to her whatsoever I do remember the one doll at the garage sale that looked like ours she had a purple striped/checked dress and purple hair and a white apron with a patch that looked like it had grapes on it. Now this doll is the smae but has green leaf patch on her apron I wonder if that means anything.

Is this the doll in the picture?

no info about the doll though :(
-
Oh my God! That is her! Thank you so much. Does she have a name?
-
I don't know yet I have contacted the seller to see if he can tell me anything, when he does I will post it on here for you. I am still looking to see if maybe she is part of a group of dolls.
-
I was kind of wondering how did you happen to come across this doll? Were you just randomly searching on ebay and just found it?
-
-
I have been looking for her since you posted on here about her. I just happened to see her while I was searching ebay for a green hair doll on ebay hoping that maybe I would find the doll you were looking for and she was at the bottom of the page. The seller sent me a message back saying the doll was just a soft doll with no tags. I will keep looking to see if I can find the purple haired one to see what kind they are.

Here's another one
-
Yes that's her I guess she does have a name after all but I don't remember our doll having a tag on the back of the dress.
-
I don't think that's her real name. Lime Chiffon is a real Strawberry Shortcake character and she doesn't look like this doll at all. I have a feeling the tag just has the maker's name on it and the seller guessed on the rest. Just like a seller that finds a Totsy pony might list it as a "My Little Pony by Totsy" even tho it is not actually a real My Little Pony. Of course a maker's name is better than nothing.
-
The seller posted that is was made by a company called "Etone" If you go to ebay and type in Etone doll another lime doll comes up. So the maker is Etone if someone hasn't already posted it.

Found another one take a look

I don't think this doll has a name at all. Maybe she should just be Id'ed as a fakie or something.
-
Here is another one but she is purple so I'm wondering if my doll is also an etone doll as well.

And another Etone doll but she is pink.

I checked www.trademarkia.com for Etone's registered trademarks but all were to recent (only three).

Here's pictures of the dolls found so far. Notice how the two purple ones are slightly different?

These are ridiculously cute. I think it would be safe to say that they're fakies of either Strawberry Shortcake or Holly Hobbie.
-
I actually found the doll today! And my sister says that she is mine and her tag says Ganz Bros. Toys LTD. There is also no year on the tag or anything. So to get it over with I am just going to agree that she is a fakie of some kind.
-
Hells yeah! Finally! I had the pink strawberry one in the 80s (but got rid of her a long time ago because her head went all lumpy after we washed her) and I have been trying to ID her for a very long time. I just stumbled on this post. It was good to see a photo of her again, although that one in the photo would have had pink yarn plaits/braids at some point!
-
I looked at some Hollie Hobby dolls and there are some similarities with the face, hair and the dress. I think that she is a knack off from this doll.
-
Okay so I just came across another one and it’s orange.

And a yellow one

I also found this one and it called a Cuddle Wit doll

There two two Kids of America are also very close to my doll but they have candy on their dresses.

I think mine might be a Cuddle Wit fake
