Title: Fairy Dollhouse
Post by: fairy on Thursday 22 November 2012, 05:09 pm
My mother said it was purchased at a yard sale in the mid-90s, probably made sometime in the 80s. Because of this, we never saw any packaging. We had looked all over toy stores for anything from the same line, but never found a similar product, so she guessed that it was foreign. It had no brand markings.

The dollhouse itself was made of cheap brown plastic in the shape of a house, but was modeled to look like it was made from tree branches. It was smaller than a normal dollhouse, but very durable; I remember it going down the stairs without a scratch more than a few times. I have no memory of what the "front" of the house looked like, but the side you could play with was just a flat open building. It had a detachable ladder on the right and a covered platform with a knob that could rise and fall between the two levels. There were three fairy dolls that came with it, probably no larger than the top segment of an adult finger. Their mesh wings were all different colors and their hands were pressed together. When you pinched the wings, the hands would open and you could clip them onto different parts of the dollhouse.

Was the brown plastic and tree-like features anything like the ones on this playset?

Sort of! My memories of the detailing are rather vague at this point, but it was something like that, just thinner branches.

I wish I could say this is it:

But alas, I doubt it. It's more of a house in a tree ('tree house'), not a house made to look like a tree *sort of*, lol.

I'm gonna put it out there:

Is that, this? Might be the right house, but the fairies are probably too big.
