I have a small necklace under the sea castle from the line. It's not shown in that commercial though. Sadly, I lost the mermaid to it. I could take photos of it if anyone wants to see. I also saw the same one I have on ebay moc recently but didn't have monies and it might have been overpriced. I don't remember. Anyway, I'd like to find at least the mermaid to it.

Oooh yes, great suggestion! I had one that came with hidden jewelry, and I remember there was one that turned into a tea set. I also had a small kaleidoscope/locket necklace. Unfortunately, I don't have them with me to take pics.

I have one that looks like an under the sea castle. It has 3 castle tops with flags that come off and have bubble blower sticks in them. I have to take a picture, can't find one online. But it is made by Trendmasters.

We had these in Australia too. My sister and I had quite a lot of them but these were all given away.

The kaleidoscope necklaces EricaVee described all came with a person figure (I remember a mermaid figure) and a pet (I remember a dragon pet). It was in the shape of a castle and has a hollowed out bit where you could put the person and pet and it had doors so they wouldn't fall out. In one of the turrents was a kaleidoscope (not with bits in - it broke up what you would normally see into different sections). I think you looked through the bottom of the castle, but it could've been vice versa. They came on a rope/string I don't know what yo'd call it - the type quite common in kid's jewellery and it had one of those snap open clasps (I think oval).

Another small playset was a carriage playset where there was a big animal (I'm thinking dragon and seahore) that pulled along a little carriage and the motion of the pulling would make the fins of the seahore/wings of the dragon move. Again it came with a person and a pet.

The main castles had keys so you could open them up and there were often little hidey-holes in them and other special things and they usually came with a peson/s and pet/s.

Star castles auctions:

fifth picture - you can see about 7 starcastles
seventh picture - second row there is a starcastle mermaid toward the end, third row is a starcastle princess figure
ninth picture - the blue seahore is starcastle (probably the pet of the blue themed mermaid) Some of the horses are likely starcastle horses.

Mine is the undersea one mouse described.
The first one mouse linked looks really really familiar And so does the little caterpillar in the large lot. Now I think I might have had that one too. I also remember having a large undersea castle, but I'm still not sure if it was one of these or not.

I was just thinking about a large undersea playset my sister had and wondering if it was starcastles and I'm pretty sure it was - it's just the size of it (in my mind) that makes it seem iffy. It actually had a removeable 'tank' you could fill up with water to put the people in. Is that anything like what you're thinking of? Unsuprisingly, it had a blue theme.

These last 3 I'm not 100% sure they are starcastles but they look like they could be.

I don't remember any tank. I remember it was really glittery like these. I'm pretty sure it must have been one of these. It's not the one they show in the video though. It must have been the size of the tea pot one. The turrets were like swirly seashells. I don't remember specific colors, but it was pastels.
I took pics of my small necklace one. You look through the bottom and the crystal on top creates the kaleidoscope you two were talking about. I hope I can find the mermaid and seahorse (you said these small ones came with an animal, right?)

I think some of those castles definantly belong to that line. That person has some great photos - I love this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/23965366@N06/4381405885/in/set-72157605693241665/ I would love to have all of those little things! I have a doll house which I want to do up and put stuff in. I would like to make it like - not so much a traditional dollhouse but just rooms bursting with cute tiny things.

Thanks for a posting a pic of your necklace - I was close, all I messed up on was the actual necklace!

If you're castle came with a mermaid I'm pretty sure it should also have come with a little seahorse in similar colours to the mermaid figure.

Was your castle mainly light light blue and the sea shell shaped turrents were a golden sandy yellow colour? Was their a mote at the bottom (or a pondy type thing anyway) that you could fill with water and float small foam sea shapes in? My sister had that one.

Post by: BattySparkles on Friday 23 April 2010, 01:05 pm
I know! I love looking at her pictures! There's so much to see and she sets them in such fun ways!
You are welcome for posting my necklace.

I don't remember much about the castle. I THINK it was mostly light blue and maybe light green turrets, but that could be wrong. I can't remember anything inside it, but after watching the commercial I do remember it having a key to unlock it.  It sounds like the one you are talking about may have been the "by the sea" version while mine was under the sea. I dunno if that's correct or not though. We could very well be talking about the same one though as I can barely remember anything about mine.

*somewhere* I have a little yellow seahorse with some blue that I think goes with these. I got it at a thrift store, I think. I'll look for it this summer.

The problem with those Trendmasters playsets is they're not that durable. There's a thrift store in the town I used to live where you bought stuff by the pound (Goodwill clearance). So, everything would just be out in piles. I found a few where the playsets were broken, so I just scavenged all the easily removable pieces (banners, etc). that were easy-to-lose pieces. :) That was much cheaper. :-D

I'll try to find them to and see if anyone is interested in them! :)

Mouse, those last three castles you linked to are all Disney sets made by Bluebird (of Polly Pocket fame). They are very similar to Starcastles, especially the re-releases that had larger figures.

The weird thing about Starcastles is that I have NO recollection of any people figures at all. I know that mine must have come with one, but I have no memory of her whatsoever! I DO have a little bird perch with a jewel hanging in mine--there were two birds, both yellow, but I only have one left. I also don't remember any figures coming with my necklace. Does anyone have pictures of one that has its figures? I'll have to do some searching. Hmm.

EricaVee- if you look in this auction you can see some of the people and animals:

In 2nd row of people in the 7th picture is one of the mermaids.

I looked at that already and nothing's ringing a bell.  :( I mean, I can see the ones that are clearly princesses and clearly not Pollys and know that those must be from the Starcastles, but nothing's looking familiar at all! I probably need to look for pics of the specific one I had to see what came with it.

Ah. I see.. sorry bout that.
I now have come across an issue of my own.. Were there different styles of the little figures.. Well I mean obviously there were the mermaids/princesses or whatever, but they have the same general look. My problem is that I am certain that the figure that came with the flower castle is the one I've circled in the image. I absolutely remember that I had her and she belonged with that castle and the caterpillar. She is clearly a very different style from the mermaids/princesses that I now know are from StarCastles, so are she and her flower castle still StarCastles just with a different look, or are they something else?

I think you're right and the doll probably did come with that set - from my memories I am very certain that they had different styles of dolls depending on the set - the small locket sets and the little carriage sets I'm sure had the sort of chubbier figures but at least some of the castles had a different type of figure. I remember from 2 castles I had that the dolls were not the chubby kind - I can't picture them clearly but I know they were NOT those.

ETA: Some more Starcastles!

I rule to the greatest degree:
http://ghostofthedoll.co.uk/Forum/index.php?action=post;topic=354.15;num_replies=20

4th picture down is a starcastle carriage pulled by a swan. You can also see a large yellow seahorse which would also have pulled a carriage. Oh and un upside down white carriage pulled by a pink dragon. You can also see some princess type figures and a tiny pegasus pet figure - there's a starcastle princess in a purple dress with blond hair and underneath her is a pink thing - that a little pegasus (possibly a pegicorn) figure.

You can also see a lot of stuff that goes with the unidentified bears in another thread.

Without my glasses on, I am legally blind (for driving at least, I don't know if I am for just walking about!) With my glasses on I have the super power of being able to spot and identify tiny figures in blurry ebay listing photos!

I know there isn't much stuff about Star Castles on the internet... but aren't there probably some die-hard collectors of exclusively old school Polly Pocket that probably know a lot about these (like MLP collectors get fakies and Magic Meadow Ponies)? I mean, they're bound to either collect them or at least win them mixed in with Bluebird Polly Pocket all the time. We should check their forums, haha.

Interesting note: the puppy, bunny, and kitten aren't LPS animals. They're Kenner Baby Buddies.

Well, if you want to work some magic here's the link to the lot. Maybe the seller can get you in touch with the buyer. I'm sure they were after the Polly Pockets (possibly those LOTR ones I've never seen before?!?) and not the pets.

Okay, so I'm a little confused about one of the molds.  :)

Here is a screencap from the commercial posted:

Do these castles agree with the "By The Sea" model?

Version A
(Pending Permission)

Version B

Version C (my castle!  ^^  please credit me if this image is used in any way)

Version C inside? (I THINK this is my model's inside)

Maybe they didn't make 3 colors of one model, but they're all different inside.  *Shrug*?!
Also, I've seen these described as "Glitter Castle".

Keep checking ebay - search for star castles, starcastle, trendmasters (use the search in title and description search) and also search the polly pocket listings, with things like polly pocket castle, polly pocket style, polly pocket type, polly pocket similar. You might also want to may a wanted post on this site and also do it on other toy sites (e.g. the mlptp.net and mlparena.com are active forums). Good luck :)

There might also be a Pretty Park line? I'm not sure, there wasn't anything on that link's page. There's only one backup of the site so I don't know if earlier or later sets are omitted.

------------------

Also, Em posted this screen cap:

I'm not sure where "In the Clouds", "Under the Sea", and "By the Sea" fit into all of this. Sunshine line, I guess?

I've also seen a Star Castle - Cosmetic Castle mentioned on a site circa 1997.

Also, the ad pikpal posted had Carousel and Ferris Wheel Starcastles.

Here's one of the Coach ones. It's called "Beach Coach" so I assume it goes with the Beach Castle.

Here's a locket. I assume it matches the Beach Castle as well?

They said they had two:
Made by Trendmasters in 1995. They are small castles that you wear as a locket around your neck, each one comes with a princess and her pet/friend. The ones I have are Kaleidoscope Locket Castle Under The Sea (with mermaid and seahorse) and Kaleidoscope Locket Castle In The Clouds (with angel and winged unicorn).

You can read some of the box on this one: (you could probably get the logo graphic off of it).

Then there was the later ones (rereleased?) - You can see that Flower one in the pictures. That was 2002 (Before Jakks Pacific?)

Seems they combined the Starcastle line with the Sky Dancers (you can read the name tag for some of them).

So, yeah. That would explain why these toys are such a hassle to identify. It seems that they keep putting them out but the bases probably still have the 1995 or 1998 date on the bottom. :(

I dunno. Maybe email that eBay seller who says they collected starting 1999. Maybe they know? Little groups of collectors groups come and go so maybe there was one back in the day?

Don't cry. One day we'll know? ::)

It seems Jakks Pacific bought out Trendmasters. Could the Disney Princess ones be the result of them selling off the Starcastles assets. Disney store stuff never has a maker name on the package so I assume they manufacture their own stuff.

I would think catalogs and pamphlets might help.

You're probably right. According to Trademarkia the Starcastles brand was allowed to expire a few years ago.

I have found yesterday these both ones. Under the castles it is written : 1995 - Trendmasters Inc. - Made in China.  ;)

The pink has not the yellow birds you can see in the other castle.

This is the one I have! It was jewelry-themed, so I suppose it must be the Treasure Castle--although I don't remember any "guardian elephant" or a tea set.

Hey Zuse!  ;)

If you got those names from off my Ponydex page, I had just made them up! Haha

I did that to help chronicle them a little better for me in my personal collection. I don't know their official manufactured names that they were given. I just came up with those names based solely on the designs on their wings. They are not marked with names anywhere on the box.

The scan names one of the unknown castles, which I'd added to the Stardancers page as it used the same mould (I thought it was just a colour variation). I've moved Neptune Castle back to the main Starcastels page and left the Stardancers version as unknown until it's name is confirmed. I wonder if it was also called Neptune Castle too?

Man! It seems like StarCastles are infinite! But those new back of the card pictures should help some with the guide page!

My Under the Sea locket came with a dark blue Seahorse but the rest of the set was pastel. I *just* found that seahorse really really recently. I'll try to find it again. Just letting you know that the variant darker tones don't necessarily come in coordinating sets. When I say "came with" I mean the package I painstakingly selected from KMART. I was wearing the locket before I got home(literally a 30 second drive)

As soon as I saw Starcastles I was like, "Polly who?" lol

I am excited to find this page.  I started collecting Starcastles in 1999, shortly before they were discontinued by Trendmasters, and I continued collecting through the time periods when Trendmasters was acquired by Jakks Pacific, then Jakks Pacific tried to revive the line, only to discontinue it again.  Back then, I tried to get a Starcastles fan club going, but I never was able to find too many other collectors.  I have a lot of knowledge and information about the line, including a 1997 Trendmasters product book and other stuff.  I even have two of the four Starcastles "Flyers," which were like winged birds that went with the set.  I will post pictures when I can, but for now I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

I really want to see these catalogue pictures*!*  It may help me sort out what parts go with each castle I have.

I have the Celestial Collection very near complete with boxes. I'll be posting very detailed pictures of them and the rest of my Starcastle collection to my photobucket very soon.

*!*Stay tuned, Starcastle fans*!*

This is part of the Celestial Collection.

I'm in touch with someone about getting the parts I'm missing from the Moonlight Castle, but I've got it in the box with it's stickers too. All that's pictured of Moonlight Castle right now is the castle image from the box. Do you have my missing part?? PM me ;D
(http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m306/nosmartyr/Starcastles/IMG_70121.jpg)

I've got another castle(a pink By The Sea) up in my photobucket, but haven't completed the titling and descriptions yet.

I have 3 castles and all my misc accessories photographed annd 5 complete, semi complete( I think ) to photograph still.

Are these good pictures? Critique the pink By the Sea pics, please. I'm trying to be as thorough with the description as possible, because without the box there highlighting what every special secret each different castle holds you're kinda like, "um, is that supposed to??...am I gonna break this if I?" I'm really glad I've got 3 in the box. It's almost terrifying to touch these delicate things of beauty.

Wow, Luvlee, your StarCastles are very pretty.  I've never seen the Sunbeam one much less MIB but I'm sold.  Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Em,
I thought I would mention that my first auction (mentioned in my post of a moment ago) is actually for a MIB Sunbeam StarCastle.  (The others are a Ferris Wheel StarCastle from the Carnival Collection, and a Beach StarCastle and a Neptune Bubble Castle).

They did also make the I Dream of Jeannie playsets, but those aren't part of the StarCastles line. They released fashion dolls, the bottle playsets, and the smaller locket bottle playsets. (My sister has them all - she's a big fan of I Dream of Jeannie). :)

Since most of the pictures in this thread don't work anymore I don't know if this is already shown. I have a color variation of In The Clouds not listed in the guide page.

Also I'm trying to figure out in which set do these belong. Most of the pictures in the guide page are so small or blurry I can't see any details.

It is from Trendmasters so it has to be a Starcastle(?). The year says 1998.

I have two Stardancer castles, the Cinderella and the Tropical Jewelry ones, but haven't got either of them to launch the dancer.

For the Tropical one I have the wand but it doesn't seem to do anything even if I twist the tower. For the Cinderella one I don't have the wand but from what I've gathered it seems to be infrared operated.

Is there an alternative way to launch the Cinderella one and how is the Tropical one supposed to work?
