That would be cool! There isn't much out about them. I know they bugged me when I was looking for my Little Beauties Carrousel horses, though! Everyone thought that I was talking about the Matchbox ones! :o

There are a few pages on them but I just went to look at my favorite guide and it's gone now :(

I wish I had saved the pics or something.  I don't think ahead like you zuse ;)

A bunch of sites I really really liked are gone now. Back in the day when I had better manners I only stole pictures from eBay. All these sites had little "Copyright" disclaimers at the bottom. And now they're gone. I wish I'd saved them so I could have at least posted a mirror one or something to be an archive. A lot of them apparently didn't get picked up by archive.org in time...

I have the carousel, the poster, and one horse (my carousel is rather empty).   I had a charm once (that came with my horse, Wild Flower), but I lost it.   The carousel is supposed to come with a horse, but someone had opened all of the boxes at the TRU I bought it from and stolen the horses.   I was not happy about that.

I wish my poster still looked as nice as the one pictured, lol.  I used to look at it for hours, imagining all the pretty horses. 

I have wanted to buy more, but they are so hard to come by, and when I do find them, they go for way more then I can afford.

I wasn't even aware there was a swan!  How neat!  Do you know what horses came with it?   And does anyone know what the special horse that came with the carousel was?  As I mentioned earlier, mine was missing the horse when I bought it at the store.

Does anyone know what is up with that black Twilight on the Fashion Parade card in zuse's post?  If that is a variant, how many more could possibly exist?!

As far as i can tell with the twilight colourings is one was for usa and one was for europe but not sure how guarenteed that is.
i have racked my brains for hours trying to remember the names of the horses that come with swan but i fear my memory is playing up as every horse name i look at i think hmm maybe that was it. i will remember or find the info dont worry lol

After doing some more research I now know why 100% their are two twilights. One was an original classic horse (purple white tail) whilst the other was a fashion parade horse (black body)
think its really odd that their is a name repeat in the series though very very weird!
cant find anything else at all - as you all know info on these horses is very few and far between on the internet so if anyone else knows as to why the same name was used for two different sets please let me know.
Oh and I also think thats why maybe Dancer from fashion parade was never confirmed maybe the black twilight was suppose to be called dancer? dunno speculating now! lol xxx

Yeah, I saw that the package said Fashion Parade... but I wonder if that might have just been a boxing mistake?   The odd black Twilight doesn't fit in with the Fashion Parade horses at all.   Technically, he doesn't really fit any of the sets that were released.   Not completely, anyway.

In fact, it's possible that the black horse's name isn't even Twilight... maybe they didn't have a name for him, and they just grabbed an extra Twilight base or something?   

Ooh, maybe he was a prototype of a horse, and he somehow accidentally got packaged?!
Hmmm... perhaps we will never really know! 

Whoever he is, and however many of him there are... I want one!  He is gorgeous. :)

i thought about that, maybe he wasnt boxed but the seller put him in a box she had from another horse and thought that was his name - i have seen name mistakes for them on ebay quite often lately so that wouldnt suprise me and your 100% right he may be wrong, he may be a completely different horse that goes by another name but i want him!!! lopl xxx

OK, looking at all the horses I have mixed up the name plates so I am not sure which is which for some of them.

OK, I got all of these horses for the same Christmas one year, and they've been mixed and matched ever since.
I cannot remember all of the names - mostly because the carousel name plates are different - but I know some of these are definitely right - let me know which ones are wrong!

The original line of horses are on brass poles.The second series are all on gold-coloured plastic poles.

the one you have listed as moonlight i have as silverdawn? silverdawn in packaging has blue bits not purple but i dont have a photo of moonlight to compaire in packaging

From looking at the list of horses' names that we know, it looks like Sunburst from the Classic Horses was not released (I haven't been able to find any actual images of that horse, only prototype photos).

I was lucky enough to have been given the carousel when I was a child and I still have it. I remember when I got the carousel that it came with a sheet of stickers that had the horses' names on them so you could give them each a place on the carousel. My mother and I put the stickers on for all the animals that we could but there were three that we owned that did not have name stickers - the two horses from the swan chariot gift pack (and the swan of course) Starr and Harmony (we settled with Starbright and Halo) and the rocking horse Finesse (we settled for Topaz). It seems odd that they would not include these names on the sticker sheet. I would dearly love to see that sheet again. Perhaps that was just the case for the earlier carousels? Perhaps the later ones included all the horses' names?

Does anyone else have a carousel from their childhood and did they experience a similar dilemma?

Hi all, I am putting together the carousel and horses for my girlfriends birthday as she has spoken about this toy that she had when she was a girl. I finally worked it out and it turns out it was the matchbox carousel collection. i have it 99% complete but am missing 4 or 5 mirrors from the top of the carousel and 4 or 5 of the heart shaped and jeweled pieces from around the top. Anyone know where I could get some of those? Am happy to pay for them and postage. Any help or information would be great and make for one happy girlfriend.

Can anyone shed light on why the original 16 horses were available with both coloured and gold bases?

It looks like they were all originally produced in gold, then painted over, the coloured ones have very faint registration/company markings. Was it possible they coloured the bases once they introduced the animals/fashion etc line?

I also seem to have a brown Wildflower.


Wait! Sussed it. Coloured bases are the second run of the first 16 with the plastic poles.

I have also now come to the conclusion that Starbright/Starburst are the same horse - I have never ever seen a confirmed Starburst (one, without base, which looked the same as Starbright) and shall assume that it was a name they thought of and then changed.
