Title: "Rainbow Bear" - a pretty generic teddy bear
Post by: Ned on Monday 01 April 2013, 11:48 am
When I was a very small boy in the early 80s, I had a favorite teddy bear, which I called "Mama Meda" (Serbian for "Mama Bear"). It was a pretty generic brown teddy bear (was likely bought at the Towers discount department store in Toronto), except that it had blue overalls on which I think was written "Rainbow Bear". My mother says she bought two of them and when I put it on the toilet to "take a pee", and it fell in, she switched the old one for the new one, and I was none the wiser. Eventually, though I developed another interest: we lived on the 11th floor of a highrise, and when I noticed that things that fell from the balcony could actually be seen from above, I threw three of my best stuffed animals - a fox, a panda and "Mama Meda" off the balcony and watched them tumble down!

Any chance there are such bears still around?
