These cuties markings are very worn off and almost impossible to make out. 1998 and what appears to read Max is about all I can tell you :)

They are generics / knockoffs of Puppy Dog Tails by M. I.G.
Sorry not much other info I could find of them online.

seems like these particular ones were sold as generic animal playsets

As I look closely at the bottom the the paw, it could M.I.G....could they be genuine, they look very similar to the link you posted? :)

The ones at the bottom of the link I sent are knockoffs. Which has pictures of the two you posted. Often times manufacturers use the real molds to make knock off versions. It happens a lot. I have a ton of fake Strawberry Shortcake / Rose Petal Place dolls that were clearly official molds and clothes but placed together in weird combos and sold as "Star Dolls" in China..
As for these dogs, I only have this website as reference, it's not a brand I'm familiar with so maybe MIG lost the name but still manufactured them? No idea what company made the generics given there is zero company branding on the packaging front shown there.

Interesting, thank you! :) :)
