Why hasn't WB released the final volume of Animaniacs yet? What's with this? Also why is volume 4 of the Muppet Show not announced either. This I can't understand these are very popular shows right? I mean why do we need rehashes of the same stuff but we don't finish some of the others?
So I gotta know does this bother anyone else and do you have a series that seems to be stalling that you are waiting for?
-
I was very frustrated when it took nearly 3 years for Punky Brewster season 4 to be released! And then when the date came they pushed it back again one more week! It was frustrating.
I know they have had problems with series do to different reasons. Like Married with Children had a hard time getting the rights to use the Frank Sinatra song in the opening of the show. The Sinatra family (or who ever else owns it) wanted way to much money. So every season (other then the 1st) has a different song in the intro which totally sucks cuz that song was awesome!
They had the same issue I believe with some others like Ally McBeal. It sucks I know. :(
-
I know I'm waiting for the last few Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers episodes to be released. There are 14 left from the region 1 sets. :'(
-
if you think about it this is all dependent on who owns the copyrights for the characters, theme song, etc... it is really really annoying. in some cases the owner of X show said yes while the one who owns the theme song says no way, or wants huge royalties. i still wish we could have all of the digimon series on DVD already.
-
On a similar topic did anyone else like Malcom in the middle? I bought the 1st series and then... nothing does anyone know what happened?
And why have they never released Muppet babies?
-
I don't know what happened to Malcolm in the Middle and Muppet Babies. But I have them both, not official copies of course. If you want them, you can get practically any series on www.ioffer.com
I have lots of rare tv series and movies and have never been released and probably will never be released on DVD.
-
who knows what happend with malcom. As far as the muppet babies I'm guessing it's the same reason we are still waiting for the muppet show. Someone somewhere has the rights to something and doesn't want to relinquish them or wants major royalties. I'm pretty sure Animaniacs is held up cause they changed networks the last season.
-
Oh the muppet babies had tonnes of film clips in it that's probally why?!? Good thinking :)
I can remember waiting years for "Cities of Gold" and being overjoyed when it was finally released on DVD did anyone else watch it?
Thanks for the link Eden will have to check it out to see if I can find flight of dragons Loved that cartoon
-
I'm pretty certain muppets is now owned by Disney
-
I'm still waiting for the last TaleSpin! :(
-
I agree with the muppet show. It's supposed to be released this year but here it is over half way though the year and still no season 4, not even a whisper, or a hint. Bah.

I miss one called Rockos's Modern Life. The only time I have found it is a handfull of episodes on vhs tapes. Another one would be the pirates of dark water they ended the series with only 13 episodes they never finished it I wish that they had.
-
Rocko's Modern Life is on Netflix instantplay. :) It must be one that's only a digital download.
I know I have the Clarissa Explains it All Season One DVD set. Then a different company got the rights or something. Anyways, a bunch of old Nick is for download on iTunes. Also, Amazon.com has an affiliate that will burn the seasons you want on demand of certain shows. I'm cool with that.
It's just that I want to finish the series I started with physical copies with a physical copy. :-D
-
I know it took forever for the last volume of Fraggle Rock to come out. Like a few years later. Totally frustrating.
-
yah it bugs me last time i went to the mall i found dark wing duck season two on dvd in the bargain bin if it is there next time i will pick it up. i have no idea how many seasons there are nor how many are not on dvd yet.
-

I'm in Australia and we're region 4 but we have DVD's from all regions because we bought a multi-region DVD player, so when your current DVD player carks it, make sure the next one you get is multi region too or you'll be left with a bunch of DVD's you can't play! The multi-region DVD players are really good though because you can save a lot of money by buying DVD's from other regions, and some are only available in certain countries.

-
this sounds incredibly annoying for dvd players i do not know if we can get multi region ones in the US at least my record player can play all records regardless. still i wish more stuff for shows were on dvd i have so many i miss that you cant even see on the net.
-
I've been thinking about getting a region 2 player. There are some Winx Club fans in North America who buy the European DVDs. Especially since the movie was only released on region 2 DVDs.
-
Yeah you should be able to buy all region DVD players in the US - the US isn't known for not having access to technology! Our DVD wasn't that expensive, we bought it and didn't even know you could play all different DVD's on it. Look in your guide and it might have an option to change it to multi-region. Ours was set to region 4 but then I changed it so we could play all DVD's.

just found this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Muppet-Babies-80s-Cartoon-Series-10-PAL-VHS-Lot-/260659518226?pt=VHS&hash=item3cb0849b12
10 videos of the muppet babies - 20episodes in total.
great if you got the capability to copy from vhs to dvd xxx
I will always remember the snow white episode where miss piggy got annoyed as the other female (cant remember the name) got to kiss kermit lol xxx
-
I got all the muppet babies episodes on dvd. works on dvd players that play DivX, which most do, unless its very old.
-
omg you should so run off copies and sell them seriously! i would have one off you 100% xxx
-
she was skeeter x I have them all on DVD too x
-
I will see what I can do. I got other cool shows and older cool movies you might all remember as well.

It's also pretty easy to get around the region code on most DVD players. Often times all you have to do is press 01 and it will bypass the region code and the menus and just starts the movie.

I'm waiting for the last Jem season to come out. They made the seasons 1 & 2 together and then released season 3 part 1 and never came out with part 2. Rhino didn't act fast enough and lost the rights to continue it I guess. The artwork them is not good inside. I also wish they didn't make them thin cardboard, it just is too easy to ruin on accident.
-
I just remembered the Heathcliff DVD set the 24 episodes were released and the movie, Shout Factory never released more DVDs. There are 41 episodes from season 1 and 24 more from season 2.
-
I have 3 multiregion dvd players in my house, because I have a large dvd collection that has a lot of region 1 and 2 dvds. I have been waiting for years and will continue to wait years for The Wonder Years to be released on dvd becuae the guy who did the music for the show wants massive royalties.
-
/\ /\ and supposidly Paul Pfeiffer was played by Marilyn Manson so thats going cause issues too /\ /\
but then again im not sure if i believe that tbh lol xxx
-
Nope it's not true
-
I'm still waiting on My Little Pony Tales
Season 4 of the Muppets
Muppet Babies
Season 3 of Early Edition
And Vol 4 of Anamaniacs
I waited 10 years for Season 1 of Early Edition then they released Season 2 right after and now... nothing :(
-
Yeah what's up with season 4 of the muppets? are they having copywrite issues?(That's the season with mark mamil in it)
-
Don't get me started on a rant about all the lovely movies and TV series which are only out on US DVD, but not on European. It's so unfair...
-
I want Malcon in the middle we can only get s1 in europe is it any better in the USA
-
We only have season one of Malcolm in the Middle in North America too. However, you can download them all.
-
Cool it's ok at the mo actually cos they're on sky :) wonder what the problem was
