[ID: My Beautiful Swan] Swan Plush
« on: Thursday 09 September 2010, 08:22 am »
I am hoping for help finding a childhood favorite toy.  I wish I had a photo but unfortunately a fire at our family home destroyed this toy as well as most of my childhood pictures.

I remember getting this toy when I was in my earlier elementary years which would have been in the mid 80's.  The toy was a plush swan and came in a few colors as I remember when I got her I had a difficult time picking a color, I remember they came in black, light blue, and maybe some other colors but the light pink one was the one I finally decided on.  The swan had a satin beak which was a purple shade with an iridescent diamond shape that was at the top of the beak and stretched up between her eyes.  There was a blue velvet star that sat in the middle of this diamond.  The inside of her wings were also the same crinkly iridescent material and the outside of her wings had bands of satin that were all different colors to make a rainbow.  She had a tail that also had the same bands of color and I think the tail may have had the iridescent material on one side.  She was fairly small, maybe around 9-10 inches from tail to tip of beak and about 7-8 inches high and the plush fur that made up most of her body was very soft.  I don't remember her being part of any sort of cartoon set or collection but that doesn't mean she wasn't.   I also remember her packaging was a cardboard tray that she sat in so I was able to touch her and pet her before I bought her.
I am sorry for the very long ramble but I was trying to be as descriptive as possible and trying to pull the image from my childhood memories in hopes of finding out more and hopefully finding a replica of my old friend.

Yeah after getting the company info, year and name from the auction I started searching online and was able to find the company website and when the product line was patented.  I emailed their customer service asking for more info and maybe a way to get my pink one.  I was not able to find any other pics or anyone else selling one so I went ahead and bought the blue one in this auction.  It was a bit more then what I wanted to pay for a plush but considering I haven't been able to find one in the past few years of searching and my birthday is next week I decided it was time to spoil myself.  Thanks so much for the help and for the leads.  I will let you know if the company responds to me and later will post some pics of the few childhood things I do have or was able to replace =)

Saw this on eBay. It's not in perfect condition, but still, unusual to see a black swan!
