So there's this Pound Puppy at Goodwill. "No, Rachel, you can't buy the Pound Puppy," I say to myself, "you don't need another thing to collect."
"But ohhh, it's so cute, and it's marked either 1984 or 1987 (can't remember which) and maybe I should pick it up since it's vintage and so cute I love dogs who needs money I want it asdfasdfasdf."
"No, Rachel, put it down. You found some My Little Ponies and you're bidding on that Crash Bandicoot figure. You don't need the Pound Puppy."
So I put it aside and just bought the MLPs. (And a Dakin cow.) But I regret it. So when my frugal side isn't looking, I'm going to stop by before work and snatch it up if it hasn't been already... I know nothing about PP though, so I'm wondering what it is exactly. I don't know of any guides for it, so I thought I'd ask here since you toy people are so wonderful and so knowledgeable about toys and may be able to help me.
It's grey-ish in color and sort of medium-sized, not like the itty bitty ones that were out when I was a kid in the '90s. What makes this so unique to me is that this one is wearing CLOTHES. It's got a sweater that's red with a zipper in the back and striped with I think white and green, but it's not in front of me so I don't remember exactly. And it's wearing thick, red plastic glasses. It also has a tag on its ear and for a nearly 30-year-old toy, the tag is in pretty awesome shape. (My frugal side quivered at this.) It said something along the lines of "Pound Puppy School Buddy." The tush tag is in alright shape, save for $2.99 written in sharpie.
I can't find any info on Pound Puppies with clothes. When were these made? How many? I'm curious. I love nerds and I love dogs, so I just can't not come back for the nerdiest Pound Puppy I've ever seen.
