[ID: Katie, by Kid Kore] Posey Doll?
« on: Sunday 23 October 2011, 05:44 am »
Growing up, I had a favorite doll called "Posey." Not only was she articulated, but her arms and legs were bendable rubber so you could pose her in any way you wanted! For years she was the only doll I considered posable because other "posable" dolls just moved like Barbie. Sadly, Posey broke after too much bending. I still have her outfit -- a denim one-piece outfit with red cloth, white-polka-dotted sleeves.

I know her name was Posey the Posable Doll or something like that, and that she was available in the 90s because I think I got her around 1995 or 1996. She was the same size as Skipper/Stacey and had a round, smiling face and blonde hair in a ponytail. I'd LOVE to get another, or at least to see her again! She was the only fashion type doll I played with -- the others weren't flexible enough for me!

Eek! What a lanky little girl! :)

No, mine definitely looked more like a Barbie than that, and her name was definitely Posey!

POSEY AND I HAVE BEEN REUNITED!

Tonight the Flea Market was running an auction, and something inside me told me to stay and watch. Suddenly, three men carrying fistfuls of old barbies walked up to auction them off as a lot, and I saw a familiar blond curly-headed doll with a denim jumper on in the pile!

When the dolls were brought to a back table, I asked the man who had brought them back if I could take a look, because I thought I'd seen one of my childhood dolls. After thrifting through the barbies (including a Ken that was before my time!) I finally spied --POSEY! The buyer let me have her for $5, which I knew was a bit steep, but I was so happy that I'd found her that I immediately paid for her.

I now know her company -- it's Kid Kore! She's also identifiable by the two circles on her feet where the wire they use to make her legs bend show through.

EDIT: I FOUND HER!

THAT'S HER! I'm not sure where I got the name Posey... perhaps a rerelease later on? But that's definitely her! I remember the comb and I still have those stiff pink shoes that never quite fit! I think I may still have the comb too!
