[ID: Honey Combs] A hard one (doll)
« on: Monday 23 July 2012, 01:04 pm »
Hi there, I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. I had a doll when I was younger and I miss her terribly, my mother had a habit of selling my stuff in garage sales when was away :(

I don't have a photo of the doll but I will try to describe her the best I can. I would really like to find out what she was so I can maybe buy another.

She was made of hard plastic, maybe around thirty cm tall ish,I'm not sure for certain, she wasn't a small doll.....she had long wavy red hair and purple love heart earrings. She was wearing a purple leotard thing and something made from kind of a netting, I don't think she needed batteries, but you could move her arms and legs. I was given her sometimes mid to late eighties I think.

Thanks for any infor anyone might have, I miss this doll so much.

There was a line of dolls similar to lil miss that were all battery operated and moved. There was a ballerina and a gymnast and maybe a roller skater? Or skate boarder? I can't find them, but I thought I remembered the gymnast wore purple. May not be it or any help, but i've been looking and can't seem to find those dolls. I know they were either 80s or 90s dolls. But I can't remember the name, and clearly my googling skills are poor.

There is also the possibility that you had an american girl doll? They made them in every type (not just the ones that were the book characters but they made them in every skin tone, every hair color), and there are many purple leotards that went with them.

Examples of american girls in purple leotards:

I also thought about her even though she's blonde:

I've got Baby Skates that (I think) is part of the ones marlipaige is talking about. She's blonde not red haired and has more of a pinky outfit. Still the one you want might be part of that line.

Here's one like the one I have.

Nope, CatLover, it wasn't that. They were a bit more young-child looking not baby looking, and one was a ballerina, one was either skating or skateboarding or something, and one was a gymnast that swung on a bar. They were always advertised together but "each sold separately"
