I'm dissapointed by it too.

1.  B/c of the price.  Like $40!

2.  No Blueberry Muffin?  But Orange Blossom?

3.  No Custard Cat?

I guess we will have to wait for the 50th annv--LOL.

Thank you for the link!  Personally I think they're lovely.  It's an anniversary doll set not a re-release.  :)

The approximate retail price is $29.99.

I thought the rasberry doll was a bit of an odd choice. Weren't Lemon Meringue (or like you said, Blueberry Muffin) more common characters? I do wish they had included the pets.

I betcha they went with the cross cultural angle and the pink factor. I find it odd or interesting that they have a Party Pleaser Orange though! Sad about no pets!

I'd prefer they had pets but I don't mind too much because the very first SSC dolls didn't have pets (Aside from Apple Dumpling and the Purple Pie Man). I don't mind the 3 they've chosen since they were part of the very first line. But Orange Blossom in the Party Pleaser outfit annoys me. I wonder why they did it that way.
