Completest or not
« on: Saturday 19 February 2011, 03:31 am »
I am just curious to know with what ever toy line(s) you are collecting are you going to collect the whole set or every toy made or just certain ones like a favorite person from the line ect  ? I will have to say I am not a completest yes I own most of the action figures but with all the repaints and variants I will not collect them all. How about you ? ???

It kind of depends for me.  Typically anything with more than 12-16 characters I will just collect my favorites.  Sometimes accessories are deal-breakers, sometimes not.  Either way I think collecting is very fun!

I find its too expensive to try to find and collect everything from a set. If I had unlimited money then I would definetly try. For now I am happy to buy when I find good deals or locally. :)

I think the only thing I have completed is those cool McDonalds Flinstone toys that came with each character in a car and a little stone-look house. I remember them from my childhood and found the whole set in one little plastic bag at a thift store.

The only set I am looking to complete is Monster High Dolls. Which is hard for me since they sell out quick everywhere. So far I have 9 dolls, 3 rag dolls, and loads of other Monster High Items.

I've been starting to collect mini Lalaloopsy too!

Some things I want all of them, others not. Collections I'd like complete are G1 littlest pet shop (except cartoon sets), lucky beebee charms and fairy winkles (and for some others I'd like as close to complete as possible) and for other collectibles I only want certain lines - like all the mini pound puppies sets. I have all the mini lalaloopsy dolls (but not playsets - don't know if I will get them) and I can't predict if I will get more if they make further releases of mini dolls.

This is a good one.

I've only ever wanted the toys I really liked or really remembered - I never wanted to collect every single item just so I could say I have them all if I don't like them all.

However, in some instances, when you have every other part of the line and you're missing just one or two, it seems a little sad not to get them. For example, Care Bears - I've never liked Grams so never wanted the toy - but it would complete the collection nicely.

The only toy lines I would want to collect all of, but it's not really achievable -  for instance, Rainbow Brite, I have to resign myself to never getting Moonglow!

There are many items from lines I collect that I don't want forinstance
she-ra:crystal falls playset,bubble carrage,bp and sp catra(though i STILL want thier swords)
rainbow brite: moonglow and stormy(they're too rare to justify the "buecu buckaroonies" they tend to go for other not wanted are the vehicles (though I AM tempted by the car)starlight, murky, lurky, the sprites, coler castle (and a few others
ssc: bhh and most of the pary pleaser/berrykin dolls

I have complete sets of some toys, but not many. I'm not big into playsets, so I tend not to buy those, which makes my set incomplete. I'm also not fussed about accessories a lot of the time, so a lot of my toys are missing those as well.

I have a ton of action figures but there is one in my set that I do not want all the variants of . The one I am talking about is the one named Cable . There are eight ! versions of this guy all in different armor or paint colors . I do not want all variants of this guy because there are only two versions of this guy I liked and I own both of them. On the other hand some of my action figures are missing parts like guns, swords , ect but that is ok to me that I am missing those parts , but that is just me.

I'm no where near a full "set" of anything tbh.

BUT given the chance I would love to own one if each keyper - accessories included, finders and
babies but seem as some don't come up very often and I'm a tightwad with my
free cash I couldn't justify the prices people want. And I like my toys no box lol think it's the whole they were made to be played with mentality thing I think they look so sad in their boxes ..... Toy story 2.....pete in his box.... Sad and he went mad lol . Now you all must officially think I'm a bit mad myself lmao xxx
WANTED:- Matchbox Carousel Horses, Tonka Keypers and Disney Wuzzles!

Not at all I only have some of the boxes for my toys because most of my toys were bought second hand with no accessories and I like to be able to pose my action figures on my book shelf .  On the other hand I have boxes for most of my play sets .

In my dream world, I would to finish every toy set!  But in reality, darn, I think I will only complete my Cherry Merry Muffin collection.  The runners up would be Bubblins, Glo Friends, and SSC Minis.

I love trying to complete a set down to the tiniest accessory! However, I don't do ribbons. Those give me a headache.

AngelBear, I have a lot of My Little Pony ribbons still in their sealed packets. I don't know what to do with them, I can't imagine anyone wanting them, but I can't imagine getting rid of them either!
