Human Beans Doll? [May 2008]
« on: Sunday 07 March 2010, 05:46 pm »
Elia emailed me this question about Human Beans:

"I've been trying to search about the line of dolls called the Human Beans. This is a baby picture of me in 1986 holding a Human Bean doll and I can't seem to find any results of Human Bean dolls. The only thing I can find on them are ceramic figures and ornaments. Do you know anything about the Human Beans dolls?"

Human beans is a reference to the children's book "The Borrowers".  I did a few quick searches to see if I could find anything related, but wasn't able to.

From the picture, this looks to me like a Somersaults character... Zippy (who is a peanut, I believe). There were plush toys sold by Avon in the 80s. I sold this one in my shop probably a year ago:

The color and outfit looks the same, even the pink ribbon on the top of the head.
