Sharpie coated pvc, any suggestions?

I got a Yoshi pvc yesterday , but the poor guy is coated from head to toe with purple sharpie. Is there a way to remove the sharpie? If I can't remove the sharpie, I might repaint him.

You could try those Mr. Clean magic erasers.

You can try leaving him in the sun for a long long time (in a window). It will probably fade but never go away since the ink is often absorbed by the plastic. It will at always have a blue tint even if you get the majority of it off. Thats my experience anyways.

Currently, Yoshi is soaking in a glass of water which is removing some of the sharpie.
maybe it's not sharpie after all. It could be dry-erase marker or something else. hmm...

HAIRPSRAY! It gets Sharpie out of fabric without a trace, so it must break down the ink somehow. It has to be really cheap stuff like Aquanet or Rave. Spray it on, let it dry briefly and wash it off. Keep trying that until it goes away. Of course, this could damage the PVC/paint underneath, so be careful.

Also, I like to use toothpaste to get marks off of vinyl and rubber dolls, so it might work on PVC.

Update: Yoshi is now olive green with a lavender colored belly, so the ink is over halfway gone
I don't know if this would work on every ink stained PVC, but I put him in a glass with a denture tablet. I think it took of a large amount of ink.
