My doll holy grail is the Rose Petal Place Series 2 Fuchsia prototype.

I just lost one on eBay and I'm absolutely heartbroken over it. 

The extra sucky thing is that I let quite a few awesome things slide by because I was setting aside money for this doll, only to be sniped in the last few seconds by someone with apparently a lot more disposable income than I have.

I HATE that they didn't release this line.

Is this it? Holy c**p thats a lot of money! Beautiful but way too expensive.

Yep! I had a bad feeling that Sweet Violet, who was also sold, and Fuchsia here would get up into this price range. I've seen prototypes sell before, but every one stayed under $400.

Seems like despite the bad economy, prototype prices have doubled.

Well no matter how unlikely it seems, you will see another Fuchsia and hopefully it will be when the prices are lower and you will thank youself for not buying this one.

There are so many toys I want but cannot have, (Like Moonglo and the super rare carebear cousins), I feel surprisingly fullfilled by looking at pics and knowing that I may not have them, but I am also not in debt. I love toys but there is a limit with everything.  lol.

I wonder if you could find someone to make a custom of her. I know there are people that make customs of unproduced and/or rare Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

Oh, I wouldn't have gone into debt to get her. The seller offers layaway. I would have paid 25%, then sold some of my collection to earn the rest of the money.

I might consider a custom eventually, although I still want the real thing.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!    The doll went for that much .  I felt bad when I paid 89 for a mint in box play set for x-men, but this takes the cake !

Sorry to hear about your loss.  Maybe you could do the next best thing and have someone make you an awesome custom of her?  It might lessen the pain a little. :/

I saw that! No chance of me affording it right now though. But I remember the whole prototype set going for around $600 years ago. Of course that was years ago . . .

When credit cards became more prevalant people started paying silly crazy amounts for things. I guess that's the name of the game now!! Again, so sorry you lost. Keep an eye out, you'll see her again!
