Brush My Diva Bubbles

Vintage toy finds from August include Action Man, Boglins, Brush-A-Loves, Clangers, Country Companions, DC Comics, Disney Princess, Diva Starz, Fisher Price, Frankenstein, Fred Basset, Ghostbusters, Gogo’s Crazy Bones, Holly Hobbie, Lapin And Me, Lone Ranger, Monster In My Pocket, Mr Men, My Little Pony, PET Aliens, PG Tips, Polly Pocket, Power Rangers, Quints Cousins, Roddy, Sooty, Subbuteo and Toy Story.

PLUSH

This is the second Brush-A-Love plush I have ever found in the wild, the first one being Oct 2022 (this one is “Bubble Love”). I couldn’t resist buying the little hedgehogs and bunnies in Wellington boots (Country Companions) as they are so cute! The Clangers used to talk but sadly no longer utters a peep. Sesame Street‘s Cookie Monster isn’t vintage (2010), but he somehow crept in! Mr Tickle is from 1996. The Fred Basset beanie plush isn’t dated.

DOLLS

The Lone Ranger doll from 1973 was a great find, even if he is in the buff. I haven’t tested the Diva Starz yet. The Disney doll is “Dimitri” from Anastasia (wearing Aladdin‘s pants). The Holly Hobbie doll is by Knickerbocker (1997) and has her original dress and shoes. She’s missing her bonnet, but on the plus side, this shows off her lovely mullet! I’ve found a few Quints and Cousins over the last three years; this one came with her dress and shoes. The large 1950s baby doll is made by Roddy and came with a bundle of lovely vintage real baby dresses (all nylon).

Figures

Yay, found a few more G3 My Little Ponies (Star Catcher, Tulip Twinkle, Forsythis and Strawberry Swirl), and one G2 with its sparkly eyes still intact (Princess Twinkle Star)! The Lapin and Me figure isn’t old but their designs are based on vintage toys. The Frankenstein Bendyfigs isn’t old either, but as he’s based on the classic design thought him worth a mention! I found a Fisher-Price record from their Music Box Record Player playset lurking at the bottom of a soft toy box and an empty Polly Pocket case (Polly’s Town House). The Sooty egg cup has seen better days!

Mini Figures

I was very pleased to find two large bundles of vintage mini figs last month. One contained 95x Gogo’s Crazy Bones and the other various Monster In My Pocket figures, P.E.T. Aliens, Boglins and a few Real Ghostbusters figures.

Other Figures

The jeep and trailer by Cherile (for Action Man) is a bit beaten up, but still a good find. I also picked up some Great Adventure knights, a pack of Subbuteo, a Power Rangers motorbike, a PG Tips monkey car, “Zurg” from Toy Story, and two DC Comic bubble bath tops and a bottle.
