I hate getting rid of socks when they get holes, so have a pile of splendid socks I no longer wear. In a flash of sudden inspiration I thought “why not turn them into dolly clothes?”. So I did! It was surprisingly quick and easy to do, and am really pleased with the results.
I cut the top part of the sock to the length, turned it inside out and slipped it on the doll. I pinned it at the back for a close fit, then stitched along the line of pins before cutting off the excess. I also hemmed the bottom. The leggings I created from the left over top section I just cut off by simply sewing thin tubes.
I rippled the bottoms of these three by scratching out the fabric as I stitched along the raw edges.
