“Great expectations…great refreshment.”

These illustrated ads for Carling’s “Red Cap” ale date from 1948-49, with illustrations by L.M. Simpson.

They were all still life arrangements with the signature red jockey’s cap, full glass of ale and a half poured bottle. Most ads also had a different hobby, sporting or food item too.
