“Margarine for me!”

These ads for the National Association of Margarine Manufacturers date from 1947-48. They all had bright yellow backgrounds and were three distinct styles, two of which were illustrated.

“Good, Good, Good!”

I don’t know who drew the slightly sinister, faceless margarine eaters, but the second set of illustrations were by Fred Steffen.

“The smoothest spread to put on bread.”

The ads from 1948 continued with the bright yellow background, now with a fan of sliced white bread thickly spread with “nutritious” margarine.
