“A gentleman’s whiskey.”

This ad campaign for Paul Jones whisky ran from 1943 to 1947. The illustrators’ initials (EH and RG) were hidden within the art, but some don’t appear to have any.

Each full page ad included an illustration of an empty, yet homely, seating area on a stark white background. I’ve cropped the small text from all bar one from each year, leaving just the illustrations.
