“A pretty girl steps inside a latex balloon.”I recently came across this bizarre article from 1939, demonstrating the use of latex wrapping on meat by placing a semi-dressed lady inside a giant balloon and shrink wrapping her.
“Tired of huffing and puffing, jiggling and jogging?” This article on low-impact aerobics is from Working Mother magazine, Nov 1986. It goes without saying, my favourite move has to be the funky chicken, although anything performed in these glaring lycra outfits would be pretty funky.
“If you’ve got it, flaunt it – elegantly!” Ebony magazine’s April 1973 fashion shoot for men was all about colourful leisure looks with comfort, class, plaid and pinstripes. The photoshoot took the “tremendous trio” to the Caribbean island of Curacao where they lounged about on bridges, rock pools and against craggy walls.
“Four approaches to beauty and comfort.” These very 1970’s interior design delights are from a 1977 Ebony magazine article which featured four different apartments.

Hirsute Englishmen have made a London Saloon the shrine to gentlemen who sport “smashers”. I came across this article from 1947 about The Handlebar Club quite by chance and thought it too good not to share!
