Update: These are Petite Pups by Tara Toy Corp. around 1988. There are also cats (Kute Kitties).

It only took around 9 years to identify, haha. And I had tried years before on other forums.

---

I receive these dogs/cats about the same time I got my Little Beauties Carrousel horses. The only marking on them is "China." I guess from the early 90s? My college roommate said she had some too.

The smaller picture with other color variations is my personal collection/set. The larger picture was posted by Rhaegar on the MLP Arena.

They definitely came as a set. I *know* they look similar to the animals you can get individually that come in the clear box/chest with accessories. But I don't think they're that toy line.

Someone once said they might be called Carousel Cuties?

I like the Scottie and Sitting Kitty(?) best. :)

I still have the dog in a ballgown and the one in his pajamas. Mine are different colors, though. I am curious to see what they are.

I have several of the cats and one dog, but I'm not sure what they're called either:

I do think, while not necessarily the same line of toys, they may be manufactured by the same company that makes those little horses (and also other carousel animals) that you describe, Zuse.  I have a small collection of those too, and the style is pretty similar.

My horses:

The 2 elephants and giraffe I have:

I know I've seen the little horses in their cases, but at the moment, I can't recall what the name on the packaging was...sure wish I could be of more help.

The horses are Pony Luv. Not sure what name the carousel animals have. I have a few of them myself, including a tiger.

I'd love to see a pic of the rhino!

Its funny to see how inaccurate the tails on these animals are. Especially the elephants and giraffe. :) Super cute!

So, it looks like there are 6 different poses each for the dog and cat ones!

I have one of the circus/zoo types somewhere. It's a tiger... but I think it's had a tail trim.

Yeah, the Pony Luv are by Tara. And those are actually just a release of them put out in 2002. They've been making them longer than that (party favors, etc.) We have a post on here somewhere about them.

I *suspect* that my figures are something put out by Multitoys. Maybe not since I can't find an MTC mark... but I NEVER had any Pony Luv sets but I did have Carrousel Little Beauties and the same person gave me both toys. Also, I don't remember how they were packaged, but including me (original owner) and that other person on the Arena (original owner) we both had 5 pets - one of each mold. So I strongly suspect they were a set. With the Little Beauties my sister and I each got one.
