Little Miss Dolls - Mattel
« on: Thursday 25 March 2010, 05:42 am »
There were tons of them in both the 80's and 90's...Little Miss Makeup, Little Miss Dress-Up, Little Miss Mermaid, Little Miss Magic Jewels, and more. To me, they're like the archetypal non-Barbie 80's/90's doll--the colorful eyes with the little star highlight, the heart on one cheek.

There were also a TON of random dolls of the same general size and look as the Little Miss line in the 80's and 90's, lots of them by Mattel and Hasbro but by other companies too...dolls like Penni Secrets, Sally Secrets, Tapsie, Casey Cartwheel, My Lickety Treats, Jennie Gymnast, ect...most of them had a single function and weren't part of a line or anything, so I don't know how they could be organized into the main toy page.

The Lil Miss dolls would be awesome to have up..  They are all pretty similar.. I think I accidentally had a Miss Dress-up listed as a Miss Makeup for the longest time on Ebay.

I wonder how the other ones would even be organized? Maybe just random Mattel dolls and random Hasbro dolls?

I saw a Mattel from early 90's at a thrift today. She had a crown on that said "Yes" "No" or "?" I imagine they lit up to answer a question?

So many single dolls that weren't in series..

The doll with the crown is not a Lil Miss doll. Her name is Princess Wishing Star.

Here's a commercial for the doll.

There should also be a Wee Lil Miss sub section.

I love Lil Miss dolls!  The wee ones were my favorites though.  A section on them would be great!

I thought I'd bump this back up. I'm curious if there is anyone that collects them? :)

I love this site this bit actually makes me LOL

"A deluxe edition was also released, known as Triple Change Li'l Miss Makeup that worked on three temperatures of water. Warm water took off all her makeup, cool gave her light coloring, and icy turned her into a French hooker. .. They forgot the 6" stilettos and fish/wine cologne to complete the French hooker effect. "

Don't know why but it just always make me giggle.

I also love the Little Miss line and have fond memories of playing with them. I would love to see a section on those dolls. Especially since they are hard to pin down sometimes.
